Late. But moving.
Folium Estate - organic, dry-farmed wines from Marlborough, our first import from New Zealand. Takaki Okada founded this 8 hectare estate with the aim of allowing his Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir vines to root broader and deeper, searching for terroir expression in a region where irrigation is standard practice and widely considered to be the only way of maintaining the ubiquitous Marlborough style of Sauvignon Blanc. . . . Takaki's effort to express the terroir of his local Brancott Valley with its more clay inflected soils has yielded Sauvignon Blanc with a taut, citrussy character and herbal complexity that you don't normally expect from Marlborough. The reserve wine in particular shows texture, body and a waxy, nutty profile that really mark it out amongst other wines from the region. . . . The Pinot Noir from Folium is truly outstanding with characteristic bright red fruit but also great concentration and a savoury, earthy complexity in the reserve wine in particular. Fermented on native yeast in open top vats with a gentle extraction regime, these wines manage to combine drinkability with real interest. . . . We are offering a pack of four bottles from Folium including the Sauvignon Blanc 2018, Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Pinot Noir 2017 and Reserve Pinot Noir 2017. This pack is priced at £87 + shipping for a limited time only. Please DM us or email to the details in our bio to order. . . . #newzealandwine #marlboroughwine #organicwine #regenerativeagriculture
Discover Hiyu Wine Farm with two unique wines from the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. Now available direct from us to your home as a special two bottle pack. . . . Nate Ready and team have created a project like no other at their property along the Hood River Valley. Fields of mixed varieties sit amidst a diverse farm inspired by a combination of biodynamic, organic and permaculture practices. No synthetic or compound inputs are used here at all, not even the copper sulphate regularly applied at many biodynamic estates. Cover crops of native plants improve soils between the rows and animals range the vineyards before verasion. The vines yield painfully low crops of intensely concentrated and perfumed wines that defy categorization. We are offering a pack of two wines from Arco Iris, a 4.2 acre vineyard at the centre of the farm. . . . 'Aura' 2017 is a salmon coloured wine consisting of own rooted Pinot Noir and Gris with some of the latter seeing many months of skin contact. The Pinot Noir element is fermented whole cluster on top of the food trodden Gris. The wine is nutty, waxy even with bruised apple, jasmine, pear and hint of woodsmoke. It has amazing intensity of flavour and acidity, developing quince and a burnished, spicy complexity that lingers for a long time. . . . 👉 The next image is of 'Halo' 2017, from part of the same vineyard which is cooled more by air from the Hood River. There is more Pinot Gris here and only a small amount of Pinot Noir which is crushed for more colour extraction during fermentation so the wine is red. Packed with raspberry and blackberry fruit, flint, smoke and herbal flavours and aromas, the wine has multiple layers of flavour whilst remaining taught and direct with very fine tannins. It is impossible to forget this wine or to place it amongst others. . . . This pack of two bottles is currently available direct from us for £110 plus shipping for a limited time only.
