I was 17 and doing a portrait session for a friend of a friend. This other guy was there too. I didn’t know he tagged along to meet me. The whole shoot, he talked a mile a minute. Didn’t he know I was trying to concentrate? He was throwing me off my game. ✨ At our second photo location I had to climb a big boulder to get a good angle. It was embarrassing because when I took off my high heeled boots, I was wearing orange froggy socks. How professional. Worst day ever. ✨ I turned to climb down the boulder. He stepped forward and offered me his hand. Like a flash, that scene from “Sleepless in Seattle” came to mind. Remember when Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan touch hands at the top of the Empire State Building and they just knew? They were meant to be. ✨ What if... ✨ I reached out my hand and touched his. ✨ Nope….nothing. ✨ Jumped down. Touched solid ground and shook myself off, laughing at my silly mind. Later that week later I saw him again. He gave me a failing grade on a pop quiz, wore a terrible blue sweater and told me I needed a fire extinguisher for my piano playing. But the way he looked at me… ✨ All I can tell you is that chemistry can start in many ways. Eight months and many other stories later, I was absolutely fascinated by him. We were on our second date driving around the lakes. When he reached for my hand again, he had already reached my heart. ✨ And I knew I’d never let go. #happyvalentinesday
NEW WEDDING on the blog! // “I’ve never felt more confident and beautiful than when I’m with Evan,” Whitney told me. “I often feel this is a fairytale!” Whitney is the latest addition to the huge, amazing Twedt family! With her sparkling eyes and easy-going nature, I’d say she fits right in. As a photographer, I feel SO lucky when I get to document a wedding day for a couple as wonderful as Evan & Whitney! All the images are at the link in my bio. ✨ #abbyandersonbride

THE MOST UNIQUE WEDDING of 2018 is on my blog today! When Eric & Mary first emailed me saying they were getting married in full Viking attire I had no idea what it meant. Turns out, it’s pretty cool! Raised in Moorhead, MN, Eric lives in Arizona after retiring from the Air Force where he spent 30 years traveling the world. When his fiance suggested getting married at a Stave Church, plans quickly fell into place. They put together their wedding outfits and traveled from their home in Arizona to elope in Moorhead. See all the cool images by clicking the link in my bio! #abbyandersonbride #storybookelopement

Pinch me! My images are all over Area Woman Magazine this month including the COVER which features the super fun and talented ladies at The White House Co.! Dream collaboration, right?! We spent the loveliest morning in my studio creating images on a bubble gum pink backdrop with vintage photo frames and colorful floral arrangements suspended from the ceiling. (I spy an #abbyandersonbride in one of those frames!) We also photographed inside their warehouse and retail store in Downtown Fargo. A delightful shoot from start to finish and I'm proud of the images we made. Swipe to see a few of my favorites and be sure to pick up a copy of the February-March Wedding Issue! Special thanks to @adaesalon for hair & makeup, @fargocm for clothing @lovealwaysfloral for the blooms and of course, @whitehouse.co & @areawomanmagazine
