At sunrise, I’ll be headed on a road trip to Florida for work + I’m so pumped to see the @tradesofhope home team not on a computer!!! But I’ll be wearing my @nationals hat + missing my city. It truly feels like leaving my home. ✨
Can you have it all? Can you have an ever expanding world of adventure and a comfortable community? Where is the balance between pushing yourself ambitiously and not being hard on yourself? How do you wrestle with saying “yes” to one opportunity when it’s saying “no” to another? I don’t know about you, but my 20s have been a series of one reality check after another. It doesn’t help that rather big life decisions are made at the same time. I can’t offer any answers to my questions right now, and if you’ve gone through something similar, I would love to hear your thoughts! I’m learning to be okay settling into not knowing the answers. I have found one remarkable peace in all of unknown: gratitude. When I get caught up in the whirlwind of “can you have it all?” and the (terrifying for me) reality of compromising dreams, I practice gratitude. I was asked today in my yoga class what I’m grateful for today. And I answered, “I’m grateful I had the ability to grow my world by moving to D.C., even though there has been ups and downs. For that, I’m so grateful.” I would love to hear from you, it would do my heart so much good: what are you grateful for today?
MONDAYS + MONUMENTS // If you’re an ambitious person on a journey towards certain goals, three things will undoubtedly join you on your journey at some point: insecurity, fear, and unknown. Don’t let those things immobilize you. Relax and let them be a part of the journey, but DO NOT let them make any decisions for you! This is your life, your story, your history you’re making. Breathe, acknowledge they’re there, and put one foot in front of another. I’m pressing forward with you! One way I keep on is by dressing the part. It’s easier to feel like a powerhouse when you look like a power house 😉 Great news: Your girl just became your personal shopper. Not only did I just post 3 Fall 2017 trends that make me feel B.A., but I linked you directly to buyable clothes for each trend! Bio link! Let’s make those dreams into reality, friends! 📷 @barbarahperttulaphoto
