🎓Senior Spotlight🎓 Ada “KiDA” Zhu Major: Computer Science and Statistics Post-Grad Plans: Masters in Data Science . Best Memories at UVA: “Roadtripping to random places I’ve never heard of before, taking classes that have nothing to do with my majors, and bonding with friends I deeply care about.” . Advice for underclassmen: “College is really a time for you to meet all kinds of people and experience all sorts of things, good or bad. You may feel discouraged from time to time because of the new challenges but never forget to LOVE your insecurities because those are what’s gonna make you different than the rest!!”
🎓Continuing our Senior Spotlight🎓Sherry ”K.O.” Chan Major: Computer Science Post-Grad Plans: “I will be traveling around the US with friends and then going home to visit family in Hong Kong. After, I will be starting work in Northern Virginia as a software engineer!” . Best Memories at UVA: “Getting the first Bodo’s ticket my first year, learning to play flag football, playing IM sports, meeting many of my best friends thanks to aKDPhi and Greek life, road tripping and traveling for convention and conferences, all the late nights and time spent on aKDPhi.” . Advice for underclassmen: “Work hard but play harder!! In the end, it’s not about your GPA but more about the memories and lifelong friendships that you make throughout college!! Dedicate time to things that you love even before college!! Never forget to call your parents every now and then because they miss you lots even if they don’t tell you!!! 🤗🤗”
Congratulations to our sisters on their new positions for Fall 2019! We can’t wait to see what next semester has to bring 🙂
🎓Senior Spotlight🎓 Wendy ”Mistiqve” Feng Major: Computer Science & Cognitive Science Post-Grad Plans: Masters in Computer Science at University of Pennsylvania . Best Memories at UVA: “One of my best memories is fostering friendship (and sisterhood ;) ) that I know will last a lifetime and truly seeing myself grow amongst the people I surround myself with.” . Advice for underclassmen: “1. Don't be afraid to show that you care about something. It took me a while to realize that college me is too old to act too cool. It's very rewarding to put your efforts in people or an organization and even if things didn't work out the way you wanted to, remember that positive impact that you did make and that it DID matter! 2. Don't be the college memes you see on Facebook. It's important to catch an unhealthy habit and actually do something to change it, instead of joking about it. 3. This sounds cheesy but use your time in college to make a positive impact! This doesn't necessarily mean making a grand gesture, but spreading love and kindness in your everyday interaction so don't be a toxic person! Also don't be afraid to cut ties with toxic people! 4. Be confident.“
