Hi! I’m Amber 🙋🏼♀️. I know it’s not Friday but I’m horrible at scheduling posts.. I’m actually terrible at posting at all lately. I have a love/hate relationship with social media. I guess we all do! I love how it has helped my business grow and how I’m able to connect with so many old and new friends all over the world. But I hate the time it sucks from me. I’m learning how to balance it every single day. I thought I’d hop on here and share some random facts about me! 1. I just celebrated my six year wedding anniversary to my college sweetheart, my person. My best friend. And the other half of this business - Mitchell. 2. We have two precious babies. Scotlyn - age 6 months and Haddon - age 2. Yes, I know we have our hands full. I think it’s funny how everyone I meet in public likes to remind me of that! Why, yes I’m a hot mess and I actually brought both kids to Target with me. On the rare occasion that I get to stroll through Target alone, I hear screaming babies and actually miss mine! That’s the beauty of motherhood! My hands are full, but my heart truly is fuller! 3. We just purchased a new house with an acre of land and a creek in the backyard. I’ve always dreamt of living countryside and here we are. 4. I’m a “do-er” at its finest and it drives Mitchell crazy! I make lists for everything and nothing satisfies me like crossing things off it! 5. I hate my feet and that’s why I cropped them out of this picture 😂 Comment below with one random fact about you! I’d love to know more!
Felt so good to have another weekend off. A nasty cold has been floating around our house but I think we're all on the ups now! We spent most of our weekend at home doing a few projects and being lazy when the two crazy kiddos allowed. Next weekend kicks off a busy wedding season with our first engagement session of the year and I'm. so. ready! I hope everyone had a restful Sunday!
I’ll forever love styling details! Can’t wait to be back at it in a few weeks for our first wedding of 2019! Until then, I’m enjoying much needed slow time with my family and getting all of our gear checked out by Canon and refreshed for our busiest year yet! ✨
By the grace of God we’ve been married 6 years today! You grow wiser and more handsome as the years roll on. You love Jesus and strive to know him more. You constantly put the needs of our family ahead of your own and work incredibly hard for us. Thank you for always pushing me to be a better woman, wife, mama, daughter, friend and follower of Christ. You are my person and I’ve always known it was you. It was always you. Happy Anniversary!!
One of my goals for this year professionally was to grow more through intentional education. Between having kids, moving cities (& homes twice) — I haven’t attended a workshop or mentor session in over 3 years! But today I’m SO excited to spend some one on one time with the crazy talented @megangielow here in Asheville! She is a dear friend and I’ve looked up to her and her work since moving to Asheville. So cheers to taking time to better yourself and grow in your passion! It’s not always easy to find time in the hustle and bustle of life but I’m so glad I made this a priority for 2019!
6 months of pure sweetness and more baby rolls❤️
Today’s devotion from Paul Tripp was too good not to share. I feel like it can resonate with so many of us✨ “Sometimes you need the storm in order to see the glory. For the believer, peace is not found in the ease of life. Real peace is found in the presence, power, and grace of the Savior. That peace is yours even when the storms of life take you beyond your natural ability, wisdom, and strength. You can live with hope and courage in the middle of what once would have produced discouragement and fear because you know you are never alone. Jesus inhabits all situations, relationships, and locations by his grace. He is in you. He is with you. He is for you. He is your hope.”
Aren’t shoe glad it’s almost Friday?😉Finally feeling settled and into a new routine since moving. I’m looking forward to a weekend with my family and also organizing the kids playroom. Haddon doesn’t know it but a play kitchen is currently in a box at our front door and I can’t wait to put it together for him (well, for Mitchell to put it together 😂)! He loves to play pretend anything and I know he’s gonna love his own little kitchen! If only he could actually cook for me!
It’s been a minute since I took the time to post but I promise I’m still here 🙋🏼♀️. We’ve been busy packing up our house because we are moving tomorrow (yay!!) don’t worry, it’s a local move! Thankfully we have a lot of help coming this weekend and I’m hopeful we will get it all done quickly! If you know us, we’ve moved A LOT in our 6 years of marriage so this isn’t our first rodeo. But I am hoping this IS a long term move for us 😂! Another exciting thing we just did over the weekend was attend our first marriage conference with Paul Tripp! The conference was convicting, humbling and sanctifying. We learned SO much and I’m grateful we had the opportunity to attend. He also has some great books on parenting and Lord knows I need all the help I can get in that department 😂😉. •••• A quote from Paul Tripp: “One way God establishes beauty is by putting things that are different next to each other. Isn’t this exactly what God does in marriage? He puts very different people next to each other. This is how he establishes the beauty of a marriage. The moon would not be so striking if it hung in a white sky; in the same way, the striking beauty of a marriage is when two very different people learn to celebrate and benefit from their differences and to be protected from their weaknesses by being sheltered by the other’s strength.”
Having a wild Friday night catching up on @thisisusnbc while editing a wedding and eating cereal. Not complaining though, this is my kinda night. Gotta rest up for our friends coming to visit tomorrow ✨ can’t wait to spend the weekend with two of our favorite people which includes hearing our friend Curtis preach here in Asheville!
I often find myself daydreaming about this moment with my own daughter, Scotlyn. Dreaming about what she will look like, what kind of dress will she pick out - will it be lace or satin? Will she still think it’s cool to use a piece of my dress for hers? Cause we all know that’s the only reason that thing is still hanging in my closet. How will she do her hair? Will she desire a big traditional wedding or a smaller elopement setting? Whatever she chooses, I know it will be perfect. But most of all, I pray she grows up to love Jesus and find her hope and joy in him alone. I pray she marries a man that will lead her and always point her to the gospel. I pray she does big things & always uses her gifts and talents for His glory. This moment feels like forever away but gosh, it will be here way sooner than I could ever imagine. For now, I’ll dress her in onesies and give her pigtails 😉
This family. They are beautiful, they are joyful in the valleys and they are strong in the toughest of days. They are proof of miracles and we’re praying for them as their youngest son gets a kidney tomorrow, from his Dad❤️!
