Hi, it's my birthday, so I went book shopping. I am so happy I spotted this copy at American Book Center. I've been looking for this edition for ages! 😍 Only need to hunt down the second one (Half the World) to complete this series. Do you collect specific editions of books/series?
The March box was filled with fun items: a bookish scarf, extra book Viper, Alice in Wonderland socks, sticky tabs, a golden metal bookmark, an exclusive Fairyloot pin and the book, signed by the author and sprayed edges: To Best the Boys. We also got the first 2 cards from the ADSOM series. I am especially happy with the socks, I can't have enough of them. What is one item you always buy, despite having enough of it? Not in the pic: extra art work on thick paper.
My birthday is coming up and every year I buy myself a special gift. This time I invested my money in a Fitbit Versa and after 1 week of tracking different aspects in my life, I have to say I love it! It had a nice design (changable straps, but I am in love with this color Periwinkle), easy navigation through all the options (both on the watch as the mobile app) and it helps me to be more active. A fun detail is that you can change the look of your display too. I started with this simple design, but I currently use a clock with flowers, that shows the date, my stepcount, battery life and heart rate. Yesterday I felt like trying something new. So, I made my first still life, inspired by different photographs I found on Pinterest. I won a beautiful package from @splendith which included this paint set from Prima Marketing (Woodlands) and a Princeton brush (size 22) Both perfect to use in this painting. I used the Blackwing pencil for sketching (so soft) Paper is a Mossery mixed media sketchbook, which is probably better for paints like acrylic. I found it harder to work with, since it absorbs a lot of water. Still, not too bad. Maybe the Mossery watercolor book I also won is better suited, but that's a present for a friend 😊
What are you reading this weekend? . -Helen finds out she is part of The Dark Days Club, because she has a valuable gift. Now she has to work together with a guy who killed his wife (rumoured) - . I am halfway and I adore Helen and her feisty personality. Lord Carlston reminds me a bit of Mr. Darcy. I enjoyed Goodman's previous series, Eon(a), so I am not surprised I like this one as well.
I took a short break from Instagram. The fact my followers count keeps going up and down can be a little demotivating, but I am ready to get back at sharing bullet journal photos and books :). . . Are you bothered by your amount of followers? It feels like I am stuck around 1780.
Currently reading The Wicked King after finishing my reread of The Cruel Prince (still 4.5/5 stars) My next book will be The Priory of the Orange Tree. It is such a beast! What are you reading this weekend?
I love hidden surprises under the cover. What are some of your favorite naked covers?
