I loved the natural framing that the IV made around @em_wadman in this shot, giving it an interesting depth of field and also kind of conveying the two different worlds of birth. What the mother experiences and what the father experiences. Separate feelings, but joined by their hands. United. Working together as a team. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know this family and happen to know that they’re a team worth cheering for! . . #birth #childbirth #love #parents #naturalchildbirth #waterbirth #arizonaphotographer #arizonavideographer #arizonabirthphotographer #arizonaburthvudeographer #mesaphotographer #mesavidographer #birthfilm #mesabirth #mesabirthphotographer #mesabirthvideographer #homebirth #gilbertbirthphotographer #gilbertbirthvideographer #birthstory #birthsession #gilbertphotographer #gilbertvideographer #arizonabirthcommunity @arizonabirthcommunity
Alright, let’s reign it in a little bit before you start getting confused about why I’m here. 🐎 🤠 I am a birth filmmaker and photographer. I am passionate about capturing real moments with raw emotion, and birth is about as raw as you can get. I love seeing how a common goal brings people together and turns everyone into the most selfless versions of themselves. There is great power in creation, and it fills and saturates every part of your birth experience. You and your partner create your baby, your birth team creates your space, and I create your medium of remembrance. . . #birth #childbirth #creation #birthphotographer #birthfilmmaker #arizonafilmmaker #arizonaphotographer #arizonavideographer #arizonabirthvideographer #arizonabirthfilmandphoto #arizonabirthcommunity #mesabirthphotographer #mesabirthvideographer #mesabirthfilmmaker
I wish there was some way for you to know me. How does anybody actually know anybody anyway? How does anybody actually know themselves? How do you define a person? Human beings are so complex. So much of what we understand about the world is interpreted through a series of events from our lives that we had no control over and internalized, especially from our childhood. And then those set of personal rules or laws follow us as we go from experience to experience, sifting them through that old sieve that we never question because it was defined as fact and truth. It isn’t until discovery, through deep introspection, that we realize that maybe the world isn’t exactly what we always perceived it as being. At that point, everything can become more clearer and/or more chaotic. . In my own personal experience, I knew my healing wasn’t done when I felt chaos, and I had to learn how to cope with it, or kind of set it aside so that I could function and perform the daily tasks required of me. But the best way through problems is exactly that. THROUGH them. Confronting them. . I’m not finished with my healing, but recognizing that not everything I perceive in my mind is truth was a huge step in my process. It meant I didn’t have to believe every thought that entered my mind. I could notice the thought, wonder at it curiously, then actually DECIDE if it was a truth I could accept and believe. Choosing to accept and believe the positive thoughts have made all the difference for me. . If the truth be told, I’m a little embarrassed of this photo, but also love it very much. I took it to help get my settings right before I pulled my kiddos in so that we could take photos together playing (for a weekly photo challenge I’ve undertaken, bless my sweet little family’s hearts!) It just feels so dramatic, ya know? But that’s also the reason I love it. So there’s a part of me you may now know: I live my life at 0 or 100% but believe in the value of finding middle ground. Balancing is difficult and I often find myself rocking, but it’s not necessarily that we’re always consistent. It’s that we’re consistently TRYING. . Nighttime musings of a fellow human being.
Happy Father’s Day! 💙 . “Only a dad with a tired face, Coming home from the daily race, Toiling and striving from day to day, Facing whatever may come his way, Glad in his heart that his own rejoice To see him come home and to hear his voice. Only a dad, but he gives his all, Smoothing the way for his children small, Doing with courage so stern and grim The deeds that his father did for him. These are the lines that for him I pen, Only a dad—but the best of men.” -Jeffery R. I love birth and I LOVE babies, buuuuuut... what if you’re not quite ready to add another one to your nest? 🐦 . There have been some really good conversations going on in my inbox with lots of women on this topic, so I decided to share what I know in my insta stories. They now have their own highlight bubble if you’re interested!
When I was student teaching in a first grade classroom, I had a cute little girl in my class who I was warned came from a strange family. One of the evidences my cooperating teacher provided me with was that this little girl’s mother chose to have her babies at home. 🤭 I remember feeling shocked at the time (almost 10 years ago). Who in their RIGHT MIND would willingly CHOOSE to have their baby at home?! I had no idea then how peaceful, calm, and preferable in many ways a home birth is to a hospital birth. I wish I could go back and talk with this mother more about her experience. Whatever her reasoning, this mother chose what was best for her, and I admire that. Whatever your chosen location of birth, my greatest hope is that you will have exactly the experience that you hope for. Things don’t always go according to plan, but having an ideal, or a plan A, and then allowing some flexibility for changes will always be your best bet. . . What’s your ideal? Comment below, then question in my stories. S/O to @jordi_babe for allowing me to share her photos as well as letting me experience her home birth. . . #birth #childbirth #love #parents #naturalchildbirth #waterbirth #arizonaphotographer #arizonavideographer #arizonabirthphotographer #arizonaburthvudeographer #mesaphotographer #mesavidographer #birthfilm #mesabirth #mesabirthphotographer #mesabirthvideographer #homebirth #gilbertbirthphotographer #gilbertbirthvideographer #birthstory #birthsession #gilbertphotographer #gilbertvideographer #arizonabirthcommunity @arizonabirthcommunity

Mothers give the best gifts. 👶🏼 On February 17th, 2016 I gave the best gift ever to my husband - our baby boy! Anyone else have a baby born on their husband’s birthday? How about a grandma’s? Uncle?
