😮🌏😮 @sparkles_and_pompoms made this crazy beautiful bulletin board using my Earth Day Bulletin Board Kit!
🌏 Happy Earth Day! 🌏 I’m passionate about a lot of issues, so I feel like I don’t talk environmentalism much on here! My goal is simply to be 🌿m i n d f u l🌿of my choices and how they affect the earth. I’m not 100% vegetarian (I blame food allergies and a stubborn husband), but I try to only eat meat a few days a week, if at all. I have a car, but often only drive it once a week (yoga class haha). Thankfully plastic bags are banned here in Chicago, so that’s an easy one to avoid! Not tryna brag about these choices— I know I could be doing so much more! I just wanted to share a few ways we can be mindful without necessarily going to extremes. I really admire those who go zero-waste, are vegan, etc., but I know it’s not practical for all of us. 🌏 🌏 🌏 One thing I’m doing today in honor of Earth Day is purchasing a metal straw! I drink iced coffee and smoothies all the time, and I know plastic straws are SO bad for marine life. What are you doing to celebrate earth day?
Today is the Day of Action to Prevent Gun Violence in Schools. I’d love to hear how you or your students participated! And it’s not too late to do something— go to the link in my profile to find three easy ways to act from The Network for Public Education. • • • And as always, you can join the Educators Against Gun Violence Facebook group at bit.ly/EAGVfacebook. Make sure you answer the two questions so we can approve you!
