First I cry, then I do something. • • • It might have been the crazy last few days, or being away from my husband and pups, but I was totally set off by a family member last night. All the heart wrenching news and photos of these innocent children being separated from their families at the border just hit me, and I could. not. stop. crying. I called Rob and he wanted me to spend the night at a hotel (I’m at my parents’ house in VA), which I almost did. • • • I think it’s important to feel and to cry if we need to. But then take those feelings and DO something. The first thing I did was to donate the $100 I would’ve spent on a hotel to @together.rising. This morning when I woke up, I used @resistbot to write my Congress members. If you know of other actions I can take, please let me know! • • • What will YOU do today?
So cool to meet these amazing ladies in real life at the @teacherselfcareconference! 😍😍😍
This week is crazy busy with packing the June @teachercarecrate and getting ready for the @teacherselfcareconference, but I have my priorities straight and still managed to get this llama bulletin board posted 😂 bit.ly/llamakit or link in profile for you eager beavers already planning for next year!
This teacher demands #notonemore! Shirt is from @theessentialteacher and @thetututeacher — all proceeds go to @sandyhookpromise! I’ve been wanting something orange because it’s the color of gun violence prevention, but it’s not exactly my color 😬 (superficial, I know!) I was excited when @theessentialteacher came out with this tee because it’s a soft, heathered orange. Go get one!
