  • I’ve always been fairly private on social media. But it’s time to speak out.
These past few days have been highly emotional and it took some time to sort out all the feelings.
When the riots first began I was confused. Confused on why our protesting could not be done peacefully? I was sad that my city was burning, angry that people were looting and feared that it would distract from the message and further divide us all.
I had to take a step back and realize that even as a minority, I will never understand what the black community has endured.
I will never understand the anger of being oppressed for decades and treated like a criminal.
I will never understand the pain of losing loved ones because of the color of their skin
I will never understand how it feels to fear for your life every time you get pulled over by a police officer who should be there to protect and serve.
So friends... be angry, let it out and be heard.
I will be here, standing by your side.
