They say as you get older, age becomes less of a friendship barrier. The only class @paintandpetals and I had together in high school was Spanish. I was a freshman and Bridgette was a junior. As an underclassman, being an upperclassman seemed so exotic and unattainably cool. All I knew about Bridgette was that she really liked to paint, but who was I to hang out with an upperclassman? Almost 10 years later, @instagram reunited us. I guess whoever “they” are is right. Our two year age difference is negligible. Even though the high school we went to didn’t emphasize art, I love that we both pursued entrepreneurial creative careers. It’s fun to see all the mutual friends we’ve made on our post-high school journeys because the creative community is an English village. I had so much fun with you this morning, @paintandpetals! Excited to make this a regular thing. ❤️
Nothing is more calming to me than white walls filled with @baggu bags. This morning, I met a high school friend @paintandpetals for coffee. I use the term “friend” loosely not because we didn’t like each other, but Bridgette was two grades ahead of me, so we didn’t hang out much. We found each other on Instagram last year and finally met up. Now that I’ve been out of school for a few years, it’s fun to look back and see how everyone was in school compared to what they’re doing now. I went to a typical suburban non-artsy school, so I find it ironic that someone I went to high school with followed a similar trajectory to me. Bridgette is a painter who just did a collab with @anthropologie, so you should definitely check her work out. 🌸
Thanks for the well wishes about trying Ayurveda to heal my gut. Connecting with you and hearing your personal stories has been so amazing and fulfilling. I’ve been taking the supplements and drinking the tea my doctor gave me and so far so good. I created a story highlight to keep you posted on the updates. I really think this is going to heal me. 🙏🏻
Yesterday, I went to see an Ayurvedic doctor for the first time. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’ve had digestive issues my entire life. If you haven’t been following me for a while, I wrote blog posts extensively talking about my stomach and skin issues that I linked in my Stories today and have saved as a highlight under “Stomach Diaries.” Ayurveda has Indian roots and is the oldest form of medicine in the world. I listened to a @glowinguppodcast episode with @iamsahararose about Ayurveda and found its concept and treatment aligned with my own beliefs. I just truly believe all inflammation begins in the gut and if you can heal your gut, you have the key to heal everything else. I’m following an Ayurvedic protocol for the next month. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes and be sure to write a blog post recapping my experience. 💙
Quite happy with my @westcoastcraft goodies. ☺️ (All items are tagged.)
Someone who passed by me this morning said “Go bears!” If he only knew I only buy college tees when I like the logo. 😝
Happy #nationalbestfriendday! I’m an only child who was raised by my stay-at-home mom. I couldn’t have picked a better business partner to work with every single day. I’m so grateful for you, my confidant, the Ethel to my Lucy, and the yin to my yang.
Contemplating if it’s possible to live in a place where it’s summer all the time.
