My mother sent me this so I had to share: While I was at the card shop picking out a card for my Sweetheart for Valentine’s Day, several college gals were there in a group looking for their Sweethearts also. The comment that I heard the most from them was, “Wow, these cards are way too expensive. Don’t they have any for fifty cents?” My thought was the relationship will not last when you do not think your Sweetheart is worth the price to pay for a card. However, realistic, cards are expensive. In fact, one gal commented that her guy was not worth the five dollars (and they giggled). Course, I thought let’s turn the table ladies and when you get some dorky gift that you are embarrassed to share with the ‘whatever you call the inner circle these days’, you will understand. Truth is, when you are older and wiser, or you miss your Sweetheart, you would love to have just a note written on the back of a gum wrapper that says, “You’re my Sweetheart”. Just one more day, just one more dance, just one more smile. The value of the card comes from the heart. We leave sticky notes at our house. And while visiting family we leave little notes in closets and under pillows and dresser drawers to remind them (when found) that life’s little surprises can come in little notes. I still have all my cards from my Sweetheart and all the love notes. My poor daughter will be in charge of what to do when the time comes, but I enjoy pulling them out from time-to-time to help take me on a replay of our incredible journey.
If you know me, even before motherhood, I have enjoyed coffee, maybe my first love? With the aroma, bold flavor, the way it keeps our relationship guessing between French press and K-cups and how it makes me feel I’d say absolutely! So it’s fitting on this holiday that I’m giddy to race to my @mops_international group to get a cup of hot coffee without tiny little hands trying to grab it and enjoy some gal pal time. Happy Valentines Day mamas!
Poll time! A) My valentines are completed for my child’s party or B) on my way to the store as we speak! ——— Well for me its B, because we finally got this sweet girl all set up at her new school, so while it’s chaotic, rushing out to get valentines, I’m also so excited that she gets to participate 🤗
So my amazing mother in law sent this house for the girls for Christmas and the first thing that popped in my head was the episode of the Big Bang theory when Bernadette had her mommy playhouse hideout, so I jumped on that idea. Tell the husband you’re running errands and take a nap in this bad boy. Some people like wine in a sippy cup or whisky in a teacup, but I prefer sparkling water in a wine glass.
Ok last night was the Grammys and I didn’t know a single nominee for song of the year. So I give the mom edition of what the Grammys would be like and what fills my house with laughter each day. I’m a little shocked Baby Shark was seriously not up for an award. Let’s vote! Who wins for you based on this list?
When she wants to ride her bike and you let her brave the cold, but it’s freezing even in Texas to play outside. So we window watch and ask Mother Nature when the sun will come out and play again. “Someone stole the suns heart Momma. Moana needs to find it because I’m cold.”
The month of January was this 🙌🏼 He takes us on some adventures that’s for sure, but nothing we can’t handle. 📸: unknown
One of my dearest friends sent me a picture of fully stocked Rae Dunn shelves where she lives and I told her it gave me chills 😂 Being in the south that doesn’t happen and after 3 years I finally found a heart canister. However, I fell in love with these adorable cookie and tea canisters that are not Rae. The heart lids are super cute and when Nonna was here they got filled with cookies 😍 PS notice my $5 on clearance cotton wreath? Hobby Lobby 🙌🏼
“Mommy I can’t fly, I’m not a superhero. I can’t help people.” “Some of the most influential and best superheroes can’t fly. Look at Captain America and Black Panther, but also look at others in our history. Rosa Parks couldn’t fly. Mother Teresa couldn’t fly. John F Kennedy couldn’t fly and all helped protect and fight in some way to influence our world. So you make a difference in the unique ways God made you. Starting with your smile.”
