Spotted at my in-laws': Part Asian, 100% Hapa by @kipx. After realizing how little context my husband's parents have for my kids' mixed-race experience, I sought the advice of an administrator at our preschool. She is a white mom of black and white kids, now in high school and college. It was her idea to send a book. I was so thankful for the suggestion that would let my in-laws learn from other mixed-race voices, and not put the onus of educating on me or my kids. Any other mamas out there figuring out how to advocate for their kids (regarding their ethnicity or otherwise) with their grandparents??
Drove across the state today. Listened to the news on the radio and tried to digest what's happening in Charlottesville. Wondering what my place as an Asian American Christian woman is. Feeling saddened and sorely tempted to shut it all out. How do you process current events and hatred in the world? How is it connected, if at all, to your self care? #braveselfcare #selfcare #selfcarematters #selfcareisntselfish #loveneededhere

Meet Katrina, mom of 3, world traveler, and content creator at @ourlocalglobe. Here's what she had to say after our first coaching session: . Wow! We got a lot of work done! I was able to fearlessly open up about ideas I’ve had that I haven’t put into words before now. With every elusive idea I tossed out, Charissa came back with the right questions to unpack those ideas and dig deeper into what they meant to me and how I could make them a reality. I had no idea we would get this far in ONE session. We did it, and I can’t wait to see where we go from here! . Would you like someone to help turn your elusive ideas into reality? I would be honored if you considered me! . DM to set up a time to talk. . .
