Today we welcomed the #UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Privacy, Prof. Joseph Cannataci, back to Belfast. He met with our Chief Commissioner to discuss safeguarding the right to privacy in the UK and how to ensure human rights protections after the UK withdraws from the EU.
We paid a visit to Shimna Integrated College with our Chief Commissioner, Les Allamby, last week! We spoke to pupils about the work of the Commission and other issues such as migrant and LGBTI rights 🏳️🌈✍️📚
Two of our colleagues have been attending and presenting at the #NHRIAcademy2018 this week -looking at the role of National Human Rights Institutions in legislative process; human rights proofing of draft laws; and the monitoring and evaluation of existing legislation.
