Oh, Monday. 💭 Why do the Monday’s with the most to do always end up being the ones you really wish you could be 💤 sleeping in on? Is it just me, or do you feel me? I have accepted that there will probably always be a Monday ✏️ to-do list, but I will forever be looking for ways to make it a little easier to start the week off with. 〰️〰️What are your MONDAY HACKS for starting the week off right? ☕️☕️
🍾🙌🏼 ITS THE WEEKENDDDDD 🙌🏼🍾 #letscelebrate
People like to say it’s a small world, but I think badass women are just brought together by the universe. 💃🏻
“It started with tequila.” Everyone laughs when I answer the question this way, but it is the only truthful answer to “How did you get started in your photography business?”. I always had a love for photos. I carried around disposable cameras until someone gave me an old film SLR, and then finally I got a digital camera and stopped spending $9.99 for every roll to go through one-hour photo. But having something you love to do doesn’t always mean that you do that thing for a living; and that was the case with me. I was working 9-5 (which is always more like 730-6) in an office with a 30-minute to 1-hour-plus traffic filled commute on either side of the work day. It was one of the hour-plus traffic days and I just couldn’t take it. I pulled into a bar parking lot, went inside, took a shot of tequila, and drank margaritas until the traffic cleared up. The next day I put in my two weeks notice and decided I was going to see if I could make it at this whole photographer thing. That was five years ago. Lord knows it hasn’t been easy. And my accountant knows it hasn’t always been profitable. But I am a true believer that the most important trait you can have when wanting to launch a creative career is confidence. Confidence in yourself, even on your weakest days. Confidence in your idea, even when others are telling you it will fail. Confidence in the investments you are making in gear, technology, contractors, education. Because your bank account will be low, your hours will be long, and your work will be hard. But from one girl who wanted to love her career and her life to another, I promise, it will be worth it.
When it’s only Tuesday.............
There is nothing better than when our favorite ladies from @createcultivate spend the weekend in Houston 😍😍😍😍😍 And this event was made even better because my girl @nibandpixel was custom painting jackets and bags with MADE IN TEXAS 💙❤️
