Martin Luther King said it best
This weekend is being spent in my happy place. When I’m by the ocean I truly feel as if I can breath deeper, thinking more clearly and slow my mind (typically a huge feat). By the ocean I feel the ability to connect with nature, god and myself in ways that just don’t seem to happen at home. I am incredibly grateful for this time spent in quiet and reflection and can’t thank my hubby enough @ejjens1982 for making it all happen. One of the best parts about being married is having a partner that truly knows your needs, sometimes better than you know them yourself. May your weekend be filled with love, light and reflection.
My hubby has been g-free for a few years and at most celebrations he opts out of dessert. Well not this time. For his birthday I tracked down @nutmegandthymebaking and begged her to make him a g-free chocolate cake and boy did she deliver!! Our family all agreed that this was one of the best cakes (gluten free or not) that any of us have had. Thank you Megan for treating us to something so delicious and in such short notice, I truly appreciate it!! 🍰#letthemeatcake
This quote was shared in my morning yoga class and hit home.. like a ton of bricks. 2018 was an incredibly hard year for me mentally and emotionally and had great effects on my family. In my normal fashion I kept the pain and struggle close to the chest and shared it with next to no one. I learned that sitting in the pain and accepting it (for a time) allowed me to eventually find the right people to help guide me to the other side. I allowed myself to break and now I work on rebuilding. 2019 will be my year of focus and clarity in what it takes to create the very best version of myself. To embrace the absolute joy and at time incredible struggle that goes along with being a mom, wife, friend, business owner and every other role that adulting requires. My hearts desire is to be outstanding at all of these things while always knowing that I am something outside of these roles. I pray that as I put myself back together I take on a new shape and a new perspective knowing that my best is enough. I won’t always succeed but I will always have control over the thoughts I choose to think and the perspective I choose to take.
In reality is dark and raining today and will be for the next four days 🌂🌧🌧☂️ In my mind I’m at the beach watching this adorable couple tie the knot in a private beach side ceremony. Did you know that YIE specializes in planning destination weddings throughout California??? ☀️☀️🏝 We have had the pleasure of working in Carmel, Monterrey, San Luis Obispo, Pismo, Santa Rosa, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite...where will we go next?
I have always loved to read. As a kid some of my fondest memories are going to the book store with my parents and being told I could pick out any book I wanted. As an adult our date nights almost always end with a stroll through Barns and Nobel. For Christmas I was so excited to receive a pile of new books to dive into. My Goal for this new year is to strive for clarity and focus in all I do. These books (along with many others I’m sure) will serve a inspiration and guides in my journey through this next year. I would love to hear what your favorite books are 📚#booklove
