Hey friends! I wanted to share one of my favorite designers with you, Tera @terajanelledesign. I have followed her for sometime on IG and I love the beautiful spaces that she creates. She is incredibly talented and has such a kind heart. I know you will be inspired by her and her work just like I am. ❤ Have a good night!
Hey friends! I have something on my heart today that I wanted to share. I have always been inspired by blogs and IG especially when it comes to beautifully designed spaces. Recently, I saw an affiliate link to a $220 toilet paper holder which had me like 😮 and there was a sponsorship related to that post. My point is not that. What bothered me the most about the cost of said toilet paper holder is that the reality of it is that many of us who want to improve our homes don't have that kind of money in our budgets. The decisions on making selections for our homes are harder to make and finding a way of using what we have is a lot more challenging. It is not as simple as clicking on a link. I have learned that designing a space with a limited budget takes time and creativity. I have sourced many things from Amazon, Craigslist, Wal-mart, Target, and TJ Maxx. I have spent more time searching for better prices on items that won't detract from our design than I have implementing and installing these things into our house. Our bathroom floor ($2.35 sq ft) at #thecottonmillhouse was the same price as the toilet paper holder installed. Even though it was an inexpensive flooring tile, it does not take away from the look and the overall design that we were trying to achieve in this bath. I hope that sharing our renovation journey with you (more to come on that) can be an encouragement for you to work with what you have and also an inspiration that you can achieve more while spending less. You don't always have to tear down walls and break budgets to create a beautiful home. Thanks for letting me share my heart today! ❤
We have knobs and drawers...but the plumbing still leaks! 😂 Charles is trying one more thing in hopes that it will correct the issue. But this masterbath at #thecottonmillhouse looks so much better than before! ❤
Good evening! I am sharing a new account and inspiration with you tonight. Alicia @house_to_our_home has quickly become one of my IG friends! She has a beautiful home (just look at that table ❤) and a beautiful heart as well. Oh, she is funny too. She is constantly making me laugh with her comments and replies! 😂I am thankful for this little community and the ability to connect with others who inspire and encourage me. Go check out Alicia's profile and say hello! 😘
Well today was filled with bloody fingers, leaky plumbing (hence the towel under the vanity), a misplaced knob that still hasn't been found, and repainting the vanity drawers. It has been one setback after another today at #thecottonmillhouse but that isn't going to stop me from putting down our new rug and filling the vintage glass canister with Q-tips. 😂😂😂 Progress isn't always IG pretty nor is it fast. 😮Swipe to see more before photos. Have a lovely day sweet friends.
