I would like to announce that I have upped my vegan credentials by making my own homemade hummus. Next I will grow avocados on my balcony and achieve nirvana. . I took the recipe from 15 Minute Vegan by @katybeskow and even though I added waaayyyyy more olive oil than needed (I might try a bit of soya cream next time) I really, really liked this. I'm not going to spend time making my own hummus every weekend, but this wee recipe is definitely on the list for picnics and summer parties. . #vegansofinstagram #veganfoodspace #veganfoodshare #veganfood #whatveganseat #vefanfoodporn #veganfoodie #veganbloggers #vefansofig #vegansofinsta #vegansnack #vegancooking
Book Number 9 of 2019: Vicky Romeo & Joolz by Ely Percy. (⭐⭐⭐) #moadorereads . This book came onto my radar at the #ayewritebookfestival last month. It's a lesbian love story set within the Glasgow gay scene in 2001 so OF COURSE I was going to make it one of the few fiction books I read a year. . I wanted to like this more, I really did. It was good but I feel like it could have been fleshed out and expanded. The main couple would say I love you (very quickly!) but they weren't giving me that awww feeling I get from other fictional couples. Though the sexual energy was dripping off the page. . Ely at the start of the book includes a small message about choosing to stay accurate to some of the negative attitudes that existed at the time, including biphobia in the gay community. This might be too jarring for some. It wasn't for me as I am a believer that pretending biphobia doesn't exist won't make it go away. But content warning anyway! . #booklist #bookreview #lgbtbook #lgbtbookreview #bookbloggers #booksofinstagram #booksofin
My meal prep this week was this GORGEOUS speghetti cooked in a broth of chopped tomatoes, bay leaves, saffron, thyme, olive oil, onions, and garlic. 😋🍅
On Tuesday night, myself and @xanderspuppy went to see The Girl On The Train. It was incredible. If you like thrillers with a dash of dark humour, then I highly recommend you check if there are tickets left. Though you need a trigger warning for gaslighting and emotional abuse.
Can't believe I forgot to share the Wagamanas I had last week with @eat_with_emma_ 🙏💖
My life feels a bit up in the air right now (there's been changes at work, health problems in the family, and I'm looking for a new flatmate). So I'm reminding myself of 18 months ago when things were REALLY messy. It feels like a lifetime ago now, and while I'm not exactly grateful for what went down in late 2017 - it was one of those periods of life when things felt dizzy, but really the stars were aligning for better things and I came out the other side laughing. Fingers crossed this is the same. 🤞
