At Dancing for Joy, we strive to be a community that is encouraging, uplifting, and inclusive - recommitting to love, listen, learn, and grow every single day. It is imperative to us that each of our students feel confident and empowered, whether at the barre or on the stage! With that commitment in mind, DFJ is excited to be making some important changes to our studio dress code: from here on out, students are free to choose between pink or skin-tone tights and shoes for all their classes. We love and miss our students so much, and we can’t wait to dance with you again! Please reach out if you have any questions ❤️

I felt so honored today to listen to each speaker and watch this dancer share their stories and voices with our community. I cried, and felt a heaviness in my chest, one that made me, want to run down and hug each speaker, and weep with them. We must take time to pause listen, educate, and take REAL steps towards change. We must also ask questions, show empathy and again, truly listen and sit in the midst of all the pain and suffering that our friends have endured. Then we RISE UP. We rise and STAND WITH YOU MY FRIENDS. I see you, I am listening, I am Rising up with you. #blacklivesmatter

5 years ago, Jubilee Dance Company celebrated their culture/diversity together by dancing in the Ski-Sea Parade. Today we would have been doing the same theme, and the kids would have designed their own costumes representing apart of their culture, and danced again down the streets of Bellingham. Although very difficult not to be together I have faith and hope, that through this season, these kids will come out stronger, and when we can all be together again to dance, it will be with so much passion, joy, and excitement! Oh, how I miss these kids! If you are on INSTAGRAM follow @jubileedancecompany, and head over to our story to view parade photos from the past, later today I will be posting individual parade challenges that our company members will be sharing. WE LOVE YOU JUBILEE DANCE COMPANY!!!!
In honor of all the ski-sea parades Jubilee has danced in, tune in to our story, on our Jubilee dance company page, for photos of past parades we participated in. We ❤️ U Jubilee community. We know you would have rocked it in this years parade. We will dance together soon. 😘
