Sometimes it's the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination. Just came back from a trip to Kingston, Jamaica and my heart is full. While a lot has changed - some for the better, some for the worse, a few things have remained the same. We're still a polite people. I had gotten so used the culture in the States that I forgot that we're a people who, when we enter or leave a room, whether we know you or not, whether we've made eye contact with you or not, a Good morning or Good evening will leave our lips. * I missed seeing Miss Lucy - the name I give any sun baked old lady walking the streets with her just farmed basket of fruits and veggies on her head. * I missed the impromptu gathering of strangers and friends to play cricket in the dirt while spectators created a stadium out of cement blocks. * I also realized that we may be a small island, but our culture and people are global. Wi likkle but wi tallawah! Yaad mi bawn!
It's two days into March but we're currently grooving to 'September' with @earthwindandfire! What's your groove song that always get you dancing?
Feeling a tinge of nostalgia reviewing this moment at Vizcaya. One day we'll get to photograph a wedding in the place it reminds us of - Italy. 😍
Travel always inspires us, but love fuels us more!
