This week was all about the shoulders. Feeling all the possible mobility and then engagement needed for stability when bearing weight. If you practice any variation of Chataranga, give your shoulders some love and protection by not “swooping” or letting them roll forward and past your elbows. Just because the shoulders can do this, doesn’t mean they should. Your shoulders will thank you for this love, I promise. . . Place blocks shoulder width apart and practice not letting your shoulders touch the blocks. Knees can be down or lifted. . . Not necessary to lift your leg when transitioning to upward facing dog. Not sure why I did that. Haha! Maybe because I’m happy it’s Friday and a holiday weekend! 😁 #shoulders #chataranga

Life is rhythm, and music invites us to surrender to the rhythm of life and love. ~Lorin Roche Find a moment during the weekend to stop everything you're doing, play a favorite song or genre you enjoy and just listen and feel all that you feel. Let that be your yoga if nothing else. This sutra really resonated with me this week and I hope the same for those that joined me in classes. Has this ever happened to you? I rolled out my mat at home excited to take an online class with a teacher I heard great things about. 5 min into class there were poses not accessible to me today. Soooooooooo I let the video play and my next pose was eatthecakeinthefridgeonmymatasana And then I took a sweet, long nap. I’m not feeling guilty and I’m not judging my practice today. I’m happy I let myself indulge and rest. Just another way I said “yes to life” today. I hope you’ll do the same the next time you set yourself up to do something and then change your mind.
