I just posted the November Morning Meeting PowerPoint for Second Grade that I’m using in my classroom. I’ve included calendar, seasonal songs, greetings, share ideas, mindfulness video links, and a class letter greeting. Planning my morning meetings in advance has helped so much! We love starting our day with these! Sharing how our morning meeting is structured in stories tonight! https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/November-Morning-Meeting-and-Calendar-Second-Grade-5014944

Set the table with good manners! We are big on manners in our classroom. We are continually practicing please and thank you, letting others go first, and so many more. We also make sure to carry on those manners throughout the school. If your students need a little push to use their manners more, this fun classroom management game will help get them started. They can earn a piece for their game board by showing manners. The table has to be set by the end of the day, or they start over the next day. November is the perfect time to teach AUTHOR’S PURPOSE with these cute turkeys! They gobble up the author’s purpose from the text and then record details to support their thinking on each of the feathers. Today, we reviewed how to choose just right books for independent reading. We talked a lot about what interests us, how to ask for recommendations, and how to find similar authors to those we love. I modeled for them a lot during those conversations and told them that I love to read books about kindness and empathy. One of my students went to the library afterwards and checked out this book for me. He knew I loved the author and he said the librarian told him that it would make me happy. My heart immediately melted!!! ❤️❤️❤️ 😭
Thankful for this lazy afternoon on the couch with my @starbucks medicine ball to recover from all the things this past week. On top of Halloween, we had our school’s fall festival last night! We were all delirious by the end. 🤪😷😳
Have you read this one yet? I picked it up at the @scholasticbookfairs last week and instantly fell in 💚. Frankencrayon could be used for so many skills: narrative writing, inferences, retell, predictions, making connections, and more. The kids’ reactions during the story were the best! 😂💚
Your littles are going to be so excited about Halloween this week! That means that they’re going to be so excited to blurt all the things, too! 🤣 I can already foresee this game being in our near future this week. 😳😉🎃👻 https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/October-and-November-Classroom-Management-Games-4902409
Here’s another fun Halloween costume idea for your team! We each dressed as punctuation and parts of a sentence. We saved the day as Punctuation Superheroes! We just used felt on our shirts and attached it all with hot glue. This would even be fun for a room transformation!
This is a great book to add to your SPIDER text set. We used it to discuss our opinion on spiders and then created this class graph. You could then lead into an opinion writing on spiders. I also spy some bossy r words! It hits so many things! ❤️
Another Halloween team costume idea...Target employees! This one is so easy! Just wear a red shirt and make yourself a Target nametag! 🎯 This might be my favorite one we have ever done! 😂
Picked up a few fun treats from @target this weekend for Witches’ Brew. This will be our fun drink at our party next week. I’ve linked a super simple recipe in my profile for you. What do you usually have at your #halloweenparty? I’m all about a theme and organization! 😂#targetteachers https://www.servedupwithlove.com/2016/10/witches-brew.html?m=1

If you already own it, head to My Purchases on TPT to download the updates and all of the new resources that have been added! It even includes a new craft, a mini room transformation, and more! 👨🍳👩🍳 https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Authors-Purpose-Activity-Packet-203012
For center time, I’ve found it to be much more purposeful and beneficial when I’m clear with my expectations. One way that I do that is by doing similar activities each week. I don’t have to take the time anymore to explain how to complete an activity or play a game. I also have hung these mini posters from my Back to School Anchor Charts at each center. I laminated them so that I could write what needs to be completed that day or that week and then erase for the next set of instructions. This was Friday’s task; I like to make Friday centers extra fun with all of the assessing that we have to do. If you would like to add these to help make your center expectations a little more clear, click the link in my profile. 👉 @thelemonadestandteacher https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Back-to-School-Interactive-Anchor-Charts-4744671
Tying up the final details on my Author’s Purpose Activities update! Lots of new resources have been added, and I can’t wait to show you! After this one, I’ll begin working on a new #authorspurpose resource for answer, describe, and explain. 😊
If you need a super easy team Halloween costume idea, Fly Guy is really fun! We dressed up as him last year for book character day. We printed the eyeballs on cardstock and cut out the wings from poster board. Then, we attached the wings with yarn. Super cute and simple! Does your team dress up?
