Working on classroom awards tonight! I can’t wait to see them “Walk the Plank” for their awards on Friday! 🏴☠️❤️ https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Pirate-End-of-the-Year-Awards-4577910
One more full week of school! I took last week off from posting because I was finishing up working on some new end of the year resources. This week, it’s all about pirates! 🏴☠️ Lots of meaningful activities are included, a Memory Book, Land Ho! for the next grade book, a favorite memory pirate craft, hats, last day picture signs, diplomas, and more! I’ll also add our other pirate stuff to stories! https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/ARRR-You-Ready-for-Summer-End-of-the-Year-Pirate-Resource-4577895
Today was zoo day! We had such a perfect day, but we were super sad. Today was our last field trip together as a team. Due to rezoning, our team is being split up. 😢 Until then, we are going to enjoy these last couple of weeks together! 💛 #firstgradefamily
My team. ❤️ We had our last PLC as a team today, with our matching planners. This pic is actually from our summer planning meeting. 🤣 (You can find them through the link in my profile.) It’s almost time to start making our new planners for next year. ❤️ I told you I would report back on how they held up. They held up really well all year with the Happy Planner rings. My planner got to be huge by the end, so I was glad I purchased the largest rings. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Farmhouse-EDITABLE-Teacher-Binder-3821814
Now is a great time to grab my Editable Teaching Portfolio if you plan on looking for a teaching position for next year, since it’s on sale! I guide you through every step of compiling a teaching portfolio. I’ve had so many teachers tell me that the interviewers loved their portfolio, and it helped them get the job! I love hearing your success stories! 💕 https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/EDITABLE-Teacher-Portfolio-Rock-Your-Teacher-Interview-2600976
If you’re needing a super quick and simple Mother’s Day gift, these cacti are a great option. 🌵 Just print the template on construction paper and have the kids make thumbprints with red paint for the flowers. My parents always love this one! I’ll add the link to my profile. @thelemonadestandteacher https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Mothers-Day-Cactus-Craft-3150694
The end of the year is quickly approaching! If your students are like mine, they need a little extra motivation to be on their best behavior. I’ve added my May and June Classroom Management Games to my TPT shop that I’ll be using for the rest of the year in my classroom. If they’re something you think you need, just head to the link in my profile to check them out! @thelemonadestandteacher https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/May-and-June-Classroom-Management-Games-4540841
Insect Detective by Steve Voake is a favorite in first grade. 💜 I like to use this book along with a nonfiction text on insects to compare and contrast two books on the same topic. Today, we began comparing and contrasting insects and other bugs. It was great practice, and we were able to build our background knowledge on insects. You can find this Interactive Read Aloud in the May IRA unit. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/First-Grade-Interactive-Read-Aloud-Lessons-May-3749949
Let’s talk lesson plans! We have eight people on our team, so we each plan a subject. They each send their plans to me in a specific format, and I paste them into our template. We have to WOW a lesson each day, in case admin wants to come in to observe. That’s the lesson you want them to see! I’ve highlighted those on our plans. Planning together has made our lives so much easier! Do you plan with your team or do your own? Throughout the week, I will share some other tips from our team!
Are your kids taking end of year tests soon? These posters are so fun to hang around your classroom to motivate your students! #rockthetest 🎸 bit.ly/2Garq1i
I shared yesterday about the book, What Should Danny Do? Each day, I’m looking for a student making positive choices to wear the superhero cape. They are working so hard to earn the cape! It’s also a great visual reminder for the other students that they have the power to choose. @whatshoulddannydo
Have you read What Should Danny Do? yet? I just received this book last week and knew it tied in perfectly with our Interactive Read Aloud this week. Throughout the book, the main character, Danny, is faced with choices throughout his day. This interactive book allows the students to make his choices for him. There are nine different endings to the book that depend on the choices the students make. Danny’s whole day is shaped by those choices. It’s perfect for teaching students empathy, sharing, patience, and so much more. The teachers at my school loved it so much that they are ordering their own copies now. One is even putting it in her son’s Easter basket. Tomorrow, I’ll share with you a little spring classroom management strategy that I’m using with the book! @whatshoulddannydo
How does your class do with transitions? It was a struggle for mine earlier in the year. But my team and I decided to create fun songs to help them move and transition smoothly. This is one of our favorites that we sing on our way to the carpet. They have to be ready when we finish singing the song. Do you have any fun transition songs that you sing? 🎼
Just got some new pens and markers, so I felt like I had to take a pic. 🤷♀️ Are you Team Flair or Team Inkjoy? And by the way, Sharpie Flip Chart Markers are the best anchor chart markers!
My little testing rockstars have been updated! If you already own my ROCKIN’ OUT THE TEST CRAFT AND POSTERS, head to your MY PURCHASES tab now on @teacherspayteachers to download the updated version. Everything in the pack has been updated. I love how the ROCKSTARS turned out! 💕🎸 bit.ly/2Garq1i
We started playing Bunny Bump at the end of this week. It’s the next game in my series of CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT GAMES. It has been so much fun! They work really hard to get to be the student who comes up to play the next game piece. It would be perfect for next week, the week before Easter! https://bit.ly/2SGDV98
