Last Frankenstein illustration in progress. Background will be entirely black and I’ll add textures - as I’ve done with past ones. The only illustration with Dr Frankenstien’s face visible. He’s building the monster a wife to only abandon and destroy her before completion. #frankenstein #monster #illustration #penandink
Immigrants are gearing up in Irish town to confront the Klan in “The Day The Klan Came To Town” written by Bill Campbell and illustrated by me and to be published by PM Press. I have about 20 pages left for this almost 100 page long form comic to illustrate.
Detail. This isn’t the last but another Frankenstein illustration. Similar to some variants, I imagine the monster decomposing over time - hence the shift from the last illustration you saw. At this moment, the monster has witnessed Dr Frankenstein’s death, decides his vengeance was pointless and vows to kill himself. He then hops off the ice boat and disappears. A bit anticlimactic. I recalled the monster killing Dr Frankenstein but he just dies from what he puts his body through while seeking vengeance on the monster. It’s interesting how the monster sees their vengeance vs Dr Frankenstein and a bit has been written on the subject.
I was asked to do an illustration for my friend, Ben Hannam, we’ve nick named “uncle death.” It was intended for a stamp about the state of our healthcare system. He decided to design this stamp and donate 25% of the proceeds to the CDC. You can order them on his website by bhannam.com
