When I was a child, I'd often get asked what I would like to do when I grow up. Most of my girl friends would say they would like a big wedding, a handsome husband, two kids... one wanted to be a unicorn. For real. 🦄 I always said I wanted to have a career I loved, and a dog best friend 👩🏼💻🐶 . . It's funny how things work out - I have a secret list in my mind filled with things I would like to achieve by my 30th birthday; and I'm pretty darn excited about how life is working out right now. They say if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. Today I spent a solid 12 hours helping my clients achieve their digital media project goals - I'm tired, but I'm also super happy 🌝 . . Do you remember what you wanted to do as a child? Did your plans and dreams work out? I'd love to know!
Hey Instagang! I hope you've all had an amazing start to the week 👩🏼💻☀️ I'm loving the warm and sunny weather - definitely keeps me going at a ridiculously busy time. A little while ago I was introduced to @kvallcandles and I was so excited to learn about these handmade eco friendly candles which are made just down the road in Winchester, Hampshire. I'm all about supporting local businesses and communities, so when I can I always shop from the brands operating around the area. . . Kvall candle scents have been inspired by travels which I love because I'm getting serious wanderlust over here at the moment - and because I've been dying to go to Greece but sadly am struggling with my phobia of flying at the moment, I thought I'll bring a little bit of the Greek Islands to me with the Santorini Seaside candle - which is absolutely divine! ☀️ . . I have written about @kvallcandles over on Dalry Rose Blog - click on the link in my bio and have a read 🔥
It's #mentalhealthawarenessweek which I'm totally in support of. It's so important to talk about mental health - I mean you wouldn't be embarrassed to go to the doctor with a broken leg, so why would you be embarrassed to visit your GP about something that's troubling you with your mind? 🤔 . . I have spent years of my life battling with an anxiety disorder - I turned from an adventurous and fearless child into a young woman who couldn't leave her home to catch a train over to the next town without feeling like I was having 5 cardiac arrests all at once. True story. . . I was reduced to feeling like I'll never be able to lead a normal life, I felt like an annoyance to my family and friends, I had ZERO confidence in myself and my life. At that time, anxiety took everything away from me. . . But then I finally got the energy to make a change and go to my doctor to talk about solutions - to cut a long story short, I spent 6 months with a CBT coach. That was 6 years ago - and since then I can count my panic attacks on one hand, and they are nowhere near what I experienced before. CBT taught me to take back the control I lost through fear brought on by my mental health condition. 6 years on, I'm living my best life - exploring everything around me and throwing myself at challenges. . . If you're struggling with a mental health condition, seek help from a professional. There are many ways in which you can take back the control - our minds are weird yet wonderful and professionals can teach us to work with our minds, not against them. 🌻
Are you even on Instagram if you don't take an obligatory #wisteriahysteria snap? 🤔 . . All jokes aside, I love the spring/summer season for photography - everything is so beautiful, plus getting dressed in the morning is quick and easy! ☀️
