Are you looking for a lighthouse? Let me give you an advice: When you improve your own mind, you become your very own lighthouse! ✌🏼
Happy Monday! Who's feels like we've dived right in to autumn with these chilly dark mornings? 🍁 'Tis the season for spiced lattes, all the candles, early evening spent watching Netflix or my new fave Amazon Prime whilst blogging. Talking of blogging, I'm working on some very exciting reviews and stories to bring you at the end of the month - as well as an exciting announcement 👩🏼💻 I also have some incredible brand collaborations in the pipeline which I cannot wait to get my teeth in - you know, the kind of projects that you've always wanted to do and then they actually happen 🙌🏼 What's on your agenda this week? It's a really busy one for me as I've got to catch up on projects from last week whilst my laptop and camera were dead 💀 But now they're back to life AND upgraded - this is giving me all the motivation to check everything off my to-do list!
If I had to pick one popular TV series quote to live by this week, I'd pick: Don't cry, just fly. from the @netflixuk series Atypical 👩🏼💻 Sunday marks the end of a week, and a beginning of something fresh - and this week it's a very welcome fresh start. Last week was one of those where not one, two, or three crappy things happen - but rather a wave of crap that hits you from all sides. I dealt with the crap step by step, and mainly ploughed through it all - but I'm left exhausted and drained, so today I have allowed myself a slow morning drinking hot lemon, ginger and honey water in bed whilst catching up on my favourite TV shows. And that's when I came across the quote Don't cry, just fly. so I thought I'd share it with you on here because it's too easy to focus on everything that's going wrong, instead of everything that's going right ✨ I have a plan of action today, one that will help me set up for another frantic week ahead - I want to focus on the good and the great. Which means getting back to celebrating every little achievement, something I just haven't done recently 🏆 And if you're looking for something to watch on weekends and evenings, I highly recommend Atypical which will bring ALL the emotions out in you. What about you guys? Let's play a quick game: describe your week in a set of emojis! Here's mine - have fun deciphering: ☕️👩🏼💻💻❌📸❌😭🏡🔨💸🥘🌶👍🏼🍷👩🏼💻❄️🔥📺👻😴😁
Yesterday I had a total tech fail: my MacBook was on its last leg; my SD card with client work and recent unedited photos packed in.... The guys at @apple Genius Bar fixed my Mac and made it better than ever (although there is a LOT of admin for me to do to get my files back 😂) and I'm hoping by the end of today I'll find a way to transfer the files from my SD to my laptop - by the way, the card works on my camera, just not any SD card reader 🤷🏼♀️ But it got me thinking: What would we do in a world of no technology? Share with me - will you have a meltdown if your devices stop working; or will you love the disconnect from the world? Baring in mind that most of us use tech to bank, order groceries, watch our favourite films, catch up with family overseas, manage our businesses.... What would you do if ALL you technology went down? 🤔 Disclaimer: I would TOTALLY have a breakdown 😂 I'm talking rock in the corner of the room style!
Still not over these views 🙌🏼☀️ This morning I've woken up to dark and gloomy Hampshire skies BUT I'm very excited for Autumnal exploring - because the best part is always a hot cup of tea in front of a roaring fire in the countryside 🙌🏼 Where's your favourite place to visit in Autumn? I have a list of places to visit - but always looking for more 📝
It's easy to take for granted where we live and what we experience everyday. I love living in Hampshire because we're so close to everything: the beach, the capital, forests, undiscovered gems - all within an hour by car 🚗Plus, Hampshire itself is a beautiful place to discover! Day trips have been my weekend adventure go-to's for years now and we have found some absolute gems. Where do you live, and what do you love about it? 🌎 #ImWearingRI
If you're heading for a storm, hang on and pursue the end goal ✌🏼 Exploring Lulworth in Dorset on a rather windy stormy day!
“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.” — Norman Vincent Peale . Have a great Monday everyone! ✨
Wow, what a week this week has been - I'm glad it's finally time to get in my cosy loungewear, grab some snacks, and nap/watch crap TV before settling down in front of my laptop for the evening to make a head start prior to the week ahead. . In one week I have managed to juggle my client projects, catch up with clients in meetings, arrange new business, attend the achievers night at my old college as a guest of honour and deliver a speech, spend the morning chatting live on air with the BBC, manage two businesses, review two very cool and very different restaurants, and kind of keep up with my personal life 🚀 . Phew, a big pat on the back for me - and a well deserved lazy rest of the day! What are you up to today? Are you relaxing with family, on your own, or still buzzing like a busy bee? Personally, I think Sunday's were MADE for rest 🙌🏼
