A blank slate. Sometimes it's necessary to remove yourself from the noise of this world to clear your head, to refresh, to refocus. This past week and a half away on vacation with my family to the PNW allowed me to do just that. And don't get me wrong because I love me my Instagram, my job as a photographer, and my routine but many times in order to be better and work better, time away is what's needed to come back with new vision and energy. Have you ever done that? Stepped away and taken a break? Oh, it's so good for the soul. Even if you can only do it for a day. And it's actually not as easy as it sounds as there are so many excuses as to why to check your Instagram or email or phone. But getting unplugged and taking a look around you into what's important in life is so worth it. I don't want my life to pass and realized I've let the most important things slip away while I had my eyes glued to my phone or computer. So friends, today I encourage you to stare up and look around you because really, that's the stuff life is made of. And that's the stuff you don't want to miss.
And tomorrow, we travel. ✌🏼 Looking forward to spending quality time with my family as we visit San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle on our PNW vacation. It's the first of our kind and we are so excited! To all my PNW friends, do you have any recommendations on places to go and things to do while we're there? Bonus points if it's food related. 🙈
The last time I spent time with these two was in January before Greg was scheduled to leave on a 3 month tour for the navy. What was scheduled to be 3 months turned into a whopping 6 months but not before he surprised Ashley by coming home a few days before he was scheduled. Yesterday I got to spent time with this fun loving and sweet pair again in San Diego at the Naval base and a private beach close by. The good news is that he's now home safe and sound and these two finally get to enjoy every day together carefully planning and preparing for their fall wedding. Which I'm also counting down the days for just like they are! 👰🏻 (P.s. More of their engagement session is on my Insta story today some of which includes Naval helicopters in the background!⚓️)
Happy Friday from this small town turn city girl who can never have enough chocolate and carbs! 🍫 Who is a mediocre cook and a runner wannabe. 🏃🏻♀️Who is fashionably uncoordinated and can never have too many dresses even if the majority of them are black. (Hey, that's the photographer in me.) Who is wife to the most amazing man (even if he still loves the Lakers) and mom to the two sweetest little humans on earth. And who believes in faith, family, friendships, a good laugh, and pizza Fridays. Who here is with me? ✋🏼Oh yes, and I'm also a Los Angeles based wedding photographer who captures beautiful love stories for the joyful, classy, and lovely bride. 👰🏻 So if you're following along, hello and a big, warm hug from me to you! And enough about me, I'd love to hear about you so feel free to drop a comment below and say hello! ⬇️
All these wedding details are making me go 😍! Did you know that as a photographer, my job is just getting started on the wedding day? After the wedding day I go through thousands of beautiful wedding pictures and edit the best ones to deliver to the bride and groom. Which is a long process but so much fun to do when you have pretty wedding details to look at and big band music playing in the background. 🎶
Current Monday mood. ✌🏼On the schedule today: editing a few weddings, scheduling appointments with 2018 brides, and getting wedding thank you packages mailed out. What are y'all doing today?
