Henry has been debating the pros and cons of living in the city v country these last few weeks. It might have something to do with his City Mouse Country Mouse story tape we listen to at rest time. But more likely it’s from all the conversations he’s heard in the house lately. Today we looked at a farm that wasn’t quite what we were hoping for. But this stained glass window catching the sun in the rafters of the historic 1890s barn was definitely a highlight. Some day we may find ourselves in the country but for now I’m pretty happy being a city mouse 🐭

She came swiftly into this world, in just around two hours, and now has slowed the tempo of our days. And yet, her rapid growth (almost a full pound in two weeks!) and development reminds us that newborns don’t keep. Time, you funny thing! #twoweeksold #hazeljoann
Three year old contemplates New Year’s resolution: to wear a Vikings jersey every day in 2018! 🏈 🎉 Happy New Year!
My 34th birthday celebration involved three doctor’s appointments (with a three year old in tow) and a decision to go ahead with an induction plan the next day. Not exactly the easiest of days. But! I’m pretty excited to have a Christmas-week birthday buddy from here on out! #christmasbaby #oneweekold #hazeljoann
The best part about having a baby when it’s below zero in Minnesota? Family snuggles, obviously. This may have only lasted two minutes and felt more like a game of protect-the-baby-from-wild-brother, but I think Hazel enjoys the chaos (and secrets from big brother)! #ournewnormal #familyoffour #henryandhazel

Nesting at #38weekspregnant looks like: touch up paint in our bedroom (why?!); baking cookies, energy bites and banana bread for the freezer; and finally editing photos from our diy maternity/3-yr-old photo shoot earlier this fall!
Lion imitation or catching rain drops on his tongue? Glad I’m able to squeeze in a few special outings with our first before #2 arrives. Since last time we actually forgot to bring bags to the hospital, I thought it’s probably time to start this whole packing thing (almost 37 weeks!). Tonight I took out a suitcase, half heartedly threw a couple random things in (how are you supposed to pack when you still need to wear/use most everything?!) and then my little helper stepped in. He thoughtfully added my slippers and then announced “I’m bringing the suitcase to the front door!” Looks like someone is ready to be a big brother! ❤️
