Hey I normally don't put personal stuff on facebook, but I wanted to share with everyone this cool story. In these photos is a very special 1969 Camaro that I bought in the fall of 1978. It was an all stock 1969 SS Camaro 396 4-speed car. It was hugger orange with black hockey stick stripes. My girlfriend at the time and the love of my life Bonnie Jones and I met and started dating in April 1978, my senior year in high school. Bonnie went to ROVA school in Oneida, IL about 12 miles from Galesburg and I use to pick her up from school and we would go on dates in this car. In the winter of 1978-79 I decided to turn my Camaro into a race car. I put in a 9 Ford rear end, and with the original Muncie 4-speed and big block Chevy and 12 drag slicks. We started racing it at my local track in Cordova IL which is about an hour from where I live in Galesburg, IL. Bonnie and I was married in 1982 and over the years with help from my wife and good friends, we made many changes and modifications to the car. We tubbed the car and installed ladder bars first then later we front halfed the car with a 2 x 3 chassis and an a-arm front suspension. I also installed an aluminum interior. Later on we installed a 4-link rear suspension and a fiberglass front end and deck lid, and painted the car red. We had to sell the car in 1986 so I could concentrate on starting to build race cars for a living. I worked at home in my garage for a few years working on people's cars and projects. Then 30 years ago in 1987, when Bonnie was pregnant with our son Rickie I quit my full time job, rented a building and started my business RJ Race Cars, Inc. I have thought about the car quite often over the last 31 years wondering what had become of it and where it might be. My really good friend Ralph Haga did a lot of research and was looking for the car, and I did not know he was searching for it. He found it in Des Moines, Iowa and he ended up putting a deal together with the owners, and then he brought the car back home to us about a 10 days ago. I can't begin to thank him enough for all he did to return my baby back home! Just think - my whole business started with buying this car back in 1978!

For customers that are not exactly sure of the final ride height or stance they want, or what shock length they need to order, having this adjustable shock mount allows for a wide range of adjustment after the build is completed, allowing the customer to keep their options open. Quarter-Max also offers the option to integrate their billet adjustable shock mounts into any of their wide selection of 4-link kits. This added adjustability is a great addition to any car, from the street to the strip, especially for drag racers looking to potentially switch back and forth from large slicks to smaller drag radial tires. For customers looking to participate in Drag Week, adjustable shock mounts are just the ticket to be able to raise the car for highway use and lower it down when you get to the race track. The universal kit features housing brackets are made of 1/4 mild steel and fit 3 O.D. axle tubes. The billet shock mount utilizes 3/8 grade 8 bolts to mount to the bracket. A 1/2-20 grade 8 bolt is used to mount the coil-over shock to the billet shock mount. There is 5 of height adjustment in 1 increments between the billet shock mount and the brackets. The billet shock mounts are made of 4130 and are available in mounting widths of 3/4” or 1-1/2” to fit either steel or poly rod ends.
