Ok, I don’t do this often enough, but I really need to brag on this hubby of mine. The reality of being a parent is that some days are SO joyful and carefree. You giggle at your children’s wit and smiles and get endless cuddles, smiles & love. And then there are days where you are just straight exhausted from parenting! Where the day goes from happy babies at photoshoots (in this photo) to teething screams and tears until bed time, with a 5 year old who has sassy wit for days and just wont give up the sass, so you send them to bed early so that you don’t say anything (else) you’ll regret tomorrow. I say all this to say that Steven is the most patient man I’ve ever known. At the end of the day when sometimes, if I’m being honest, I feel defeated he says “don’t be so hard on yourself, tomorrow is a new day.” And really, he’s right. Some days we are hard core rock star parents and others we just aren’t. In the end, love your kiddos fearlessly. The rest falls into place. Don’t be so hard on yourselves. Show up, love them, and remind yourself that someday you’ll miss the nights of sass, toys and clothes cluttering everything, and a baby that won’t go to sleep without your cuddles!
It’s official. The heat is on in the house and we’re regularly using the gas fireplace. I’m going to miss the warm days, shorts and open sun roofs. Slip and slide days, water balloons and constant iced coffees (who am I kidding. I drink those year round). But really, can the outdoor twinkle lights and potted plants stay year round? As we transition here in the PNW to rain boots and sweaters, what are your go-to instant pot or crock pot meals? I tend to loose motivation when the endless cloudy days arrive and am trying to get my bum in gear with some easy meal plans for the instant or crock pot! Hellllp! Photo: @stevenlloydphotog
One of the greatest blessings in this business is the journeys we get to photograph for our sweet couples. Not just through their wedding but through incredible milestones in life. Maddy and Anup have invited Steven and I in to photograph so many journeys in their life together- wedding in Mexico, Naya’s sweet arrival and now this precious time before they welcome baby #2 in just a few short weeks! We ❤️them so much!
The most incredible day! You could FEEL the pure joy and happiness between Hannah, Grant and their family and friends. Complete honor to be a part of it! Planning: @yourperfectbridesmaid Floral: @botanicafloraldesign
One of my favorite things about our neighborhood is this right here. The sweet lady just a street above us has a HUGE flower garden, and sells whole bunches of Dahlias for $2! I’ve been getting them about every week and will be so sad when they’re gone! #homegrowngarden #dahlias
