THAT WAS THE BEST NIGHT. THANK YOU. Oh man, every set was such fun. Grateful. Tomorrow we’re playing to 15,000 people as a full-band with John Foreman’s orchestra at Redland’s Christmas Show. Stoked. Hoping you’ll be there. Big love always. 💫
Dan looks pretty cool and chill in this photograph, but a bird pooped on him at the very moment it was taken. Our stomachs were sore from laughing. Poor Dan. Last night’s gig featured lighters in the air and kind souls dancing barefooted on the soft grass underneath towering palm trees and a starlit sky. Magical. Tonight the five of us will be making folk, rock and soul music at Southbank’s Christmas Village from 6.15 to 8.45pm. If you’re in the neighbourhood, why not stop by for an hour or four? ⚡️⚡️
New video. The Sweet Life. A reggae/rock song about perspectives and mindsets. Live, raw and real. On YouTube and Facebook. Give it a little love, friend?

Souls fully-charged! Spent a wonderful day performing for (and with!) the kind souls who make up Sweet Freedom Singers. The power of music is an amazing thing. Big thanks to the wonderful Mike Meade (singing along with us in Twist & Shout) for inviting us along. And big love to the choir and all those who came along and supported something beautiful. 🌙✨

A new live video. On Facebook and YouTube. Bad Boy is a song about a tendency to fall for romantic ideals. Would mean the world if you gave it a little love, friends. 🌙✨
Playing the main stage at Eat Street tonight from five o’clock. Would love to see you, folks. Had a great evening of street performing yesterday. A lot of interesting situations, haha. Never a dull moment. Thanks for taking a seat on the cement, singing and clapping along, requesting songs, dancing with us, buying copies of our album, FaceTiming songs to your friends and family, gifting us with kind words of support.. always a pleasure. See you tonight. 🌙✨
And so it begins... #albumtwo #lushstudios #LHP
A great day of street performing. Grateful. We’ll be back for more this Friday afternoon. Meet you at 3.30 for acoustic tunes. Why not stop by and say hello? ✨
What a week. Spent our Tuesday evening playing acoustic tunes in the wards of the hospital. Watched little faces light up and nurses dancing down corridors. Always inspiring. Then we played an intimate little acoustic show to a kind audience on Friday night. Thank you for coming out and singing along, folks. We really do appreciate it so much. Arrived home at 3am this morning after playing a party at a brewery in Mount Tamborine last night. Gorgeous crowd. Had a massive sing-along to Ho Hey at the end. Such fun. Soul fully-charged. This coming week we’re hitting the recording studio for album number two (!!!!) and playing Eat Street on Saturday night. We’ll also do a couple of days of street performing because you sleep when you die, right? Life is good. Big love. 🌙✨
LOOK AT THIS ADORABLE LITTLE BALL OF SUNSHINE. Diyari has come along to a ton of Fergies shows with his family and his favourite song is Catching Fire. Future rockstar in the making. What an absolute legend. Hearts full.
COME AND DRINK MOJITOS AND SNACK ON TAPAS AND LISTEN TO YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBOURHOOD BUSKERS PLAY ACOUSTIC TUNES TOMORROW NIGHT PLEEEEASE 👍🏼
Beautiful things that took place this week: 1. A couple slow-danced in the glitter rain to Belong To Me on Friday night. It was so nice. 2. Our audience was packed-out at yesterday’s show before we had even started. A wonderful sight. 3. We played acoustic tunes at a wedding party on Saturday for two beautiful souls who had stumbled on us street-performing a few months ago. They were having a stressful morning. Oh Darlin’ lifted them up and turned the rest of their day around. At the end of the party they all got up and danced with us. It was just lovely. 4. A kind man told us that he organises his every business meeting to coincide with the band’s shows at the gardens so that he can spend his morning with us. 5. Our pack-ups and set-ups were a lot easier and quicker this week due to the kindness of fans. Thank you for your help. You really didn’t have to, but you did. 6. We sold-out of albums again. We’re so happy that these songs are soundtracking your lives. 7. A handful of little children came up the front and danced like no one was watching during the Friends’ theme song. It was hilarious. So many smiles. 8. “I had the worst week but coming out here today refreshed and re-energised me. Can’t thank you all enough.” 9. Every time one of our signs blew away in the wind, an audience member quickly stepped forward and put it back for us. I just thought that was really nice. 10. Tapping feet. Bobbing heads. Broad smiles. Loud applause. Kind post-show words. Badges on shirt collars. Embraces. Familiar faces. No broken guitar strings. People mouthing lyrics. The threat of rain transforming into clear skies.
Beautiful evening playing King George Square. Thank you for coming out, folks. We saw you and we were very grateful. Best moment? The husband and wife slow dancing in the rain to Belong To Me. Soul fully-charged. House party tonight. New video tonight. See you at the Botanic Gardens tomorrow morning. There is always a seat for you. You are always welcome. ✨
“If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change.” All these years later, the message is as relevant as ever. The next live video in the series is heading your way this weekend, folks. 🌻
⚡️⚡️⚡️ Huge free show this Friday night in the middle of King George Square for Recreate. Hitting the main stage at four o’clock and then again at seven o’clock. Join us for folk, rock and soul under the stars. Big love.
Spectacular evening at Eat Street. Big sweaty dance party. Grateful. Saw a lot of kind souls singing along. Thank you. Hope you had a beautiful time. Heading to the Botanic Gardens in the city tomorrow morning. Folk, rock and soul from ten o’clock. See you soon. 💙⚡️
Dan’s fallen ill. No street performing this week, folks. But in happier news, we’ve booked a last minute show at Eat Street on Saturday night. And then we’ll be playing a show at the Botanic Gardens on Sunday morning. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, why not stop by and say hello. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ @wezzycruze
Post-gig Maccas run. A band tradition. 🍟🍔 Had an electric show at the gardens yesterday. Such a kind audience. We’re also a little blown away by the messages on the live video. Thanks so much, folks. Another one is coming your way in a couple of days. This week: ✨ Thursday - Street Performing (3.30pm) ✨ Saturday - Eat Street’s Main Stage (5pm) ✨ Sunday - Botanic Gardens (10am) Would love to see you there. You’re always welcome. Big love.
Dan was doing this weird head-bobbing thing for a solid twenty minutes after the gig. So we filmed it. And now we’re posting it online. For your enjoyment and entertainment. Sorry Dan.
✨✨ WE’RE BACK!! ✨✨ Pumped. Huge two months ahead. Just announced seven more shows. Including one this Sunday at the Botanic Gardens. Ten o’clock. Folk, rock and soul in the sunshine. Would love to see you there, friends. Itching to make some music. ⚡️⚡️
Boyne Island! The massive Oh Darlin’ dance party at the end was absolutely wonderful. And we sold soo many albums! Thank you. After a seven hour drive earlier that day, you were a sight for sore eyes. Grateful. Big love. 🌙✨✨ @underthetrees2017
✨ IT’S OUR TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY ✨ Can you believe it? What a ride it’s been! A whole decade has passed since the five of us first formed a little rock band in our lounge room for a Battle of the Bands competition. We’ve come of age through this band. We’ve gone through a lot of evolutions and somewhere along the way (through a lot of blood, sweat and tears) we found ourselves. Man we’ve had some great times! All of us feel like we’ve hit the jackpot when it comes to being in a band with one another. Through thick and thin, through highs and lows.. making music together has always felt electric. And it’s never felt more exciting and inspiring than it does now! We’ve met so many beautiful people over the years through this band. So grateful. Whether you’ve been here from the beginning, discovered us street performing in the city last week, or come into our lives somewhere in the middle... thank you. Thank you for coming along for the ride with us. One decade down, seven decades to go! Here are a bunch of photographs from the early days in celebration. Bit of fun. Cheers, friends! 🍸🍸
find someone who looks at you the way kahlia looks at her guitar, ha! (we have a show at the gold coast in two days and we’re pretty bloody excited ☄️✨)
