[New Recipe] Superfood Chili with Liver. Wait, wait, wait...don’t go. I know liver is gross, but hear me out... I specifically created this recipe so I could eat liver because it is incredibly nourishing. In fact, ounce for ounce, liver is the most nutritionally dense food on the planet. But I hate the taste & smell of liver (do you?) so hiding it real well became the goal. And I succeeded!!! 🙌🏼 This chili was AMAZING! My family loved it! It’s a must-add to your rotation! I used liver from @springvillebeef and beef bone broth from @kettleandfire. Full recipe in profile or visit thealisonhoward.com. If you stuck around this long - Thanks! Glad the word “liver” didn’t scare you away! 😘
Sundays call for Banana Crunch muffins and relaxation!! 🙌🏼 If you haven’t tried @inagartens Banana Crunch Muffins recipe you should. It’s that good! I made a few modifications to Ina’s recipe: I swapped out granola for the much healthier option, Muesli from @anew_toasted_muesli. So good and so beautiful sprinkled on top! 😍 I swapped out the AP flour for @bobsredmill coconut flour mixed with @caulipowered flour and swapped out the sugar for @lakantosweetener monk fruit sweeter in an effort to make these gluten and sugar free. The results were good - nice flavor and texture! My kids love them so that’s what’s most important. Happy Sunday! Xo
Just a few random things this Saturday morning: Hair is 4 inches shorter! 🙌🏼 Have a bread dough fermenting that I’m so excited about. 👩🏻🍳 Getting my booch on with my fave @healthade before a hot lunch date with my guy. Costco run soon too then baking gluten-free banana nut muffins with the kids. 💗 I love Saturday’s with the fam! What are you up to today?
Super simple breakfast for the win! We saw Wicked last night and didn’t get home until after 11pm, so I’m dragging today. 😴 For breakfast I used @sietefoods cassava flour tortillas (my favorite!) with some of their cashew queso over organic soft scrambled eggs, and @bitchinsauce too because I was feeling extra sauce! Threw some veggies on top and bam! The real MVP of the meal was the tortilla though. Oh how I’ve missed them! So happy they’re back in my life. So good! Happy Friday!! 🙌🏼
I recently visited @heirloom.eats in Fresno, the Central Valley’s newest farm-to-table restaurant. Video of my visit is on IGTV, full review is on the blog (link in profile). Have you been??
If you’re needing an amazing chocolate chip cookie recipe look no further! This recipe has two game-changing ingredients that make it next level delicious! 🤤 ANDDD I added @raphio.chocolate sugar free dark chocolate in addition to semi-sweet chocolate chips! 🔥 Full recipe is on the blog (link in profile) - you won’t be disappointed! Happy first day of Spring! 🌷
You know what’s better than breakfast toast? 🤔 Breakfast toast on homemade bread that you spent 5 hours on and is freaking amazing!!!! 🙌🏼 The thing is, I’m not much of a baker because it’s so precise and takes patience. But watching others bake bread on IG has reminded me how much I enjoyed it in culinary school a few years ago. So here I am! 🥖 There is something so rewarding about making your own food from scratch. You enjoy it so much more because of the effort and because you know EXACTLY what’s in it. Also, my 10 yr old son called me the Bread Goddess this morning, so there’s that. 😂 I created a Bread Baking highlight where you can see what went into making this no-knead bread. Happy Tuesday! Xo!
Double tap if you love pretty food that’s EASY to make!! 🙌🏼 I’ve made roasted bell peppers countless times but adding this marinade suggested by my new friend @dianemorrisey made them next level (you can check them out in her highlights). I added some onions because they’re my favorite and you can modify the marinade per your tastes too. I put the peppers over a toasted homemade baguette, topped with a little feta, and it made the perfect pre-dinner canapé! I’ll be making these again for our first spring barbecue! Happy Monday, friends! ❤️
I’m all about keeping things easy in the kitchen and frittatas are one of the easiest brunch meals! They only require one pan, 🙌🏼 you can make them ahead, and pretty much everyone loves them. Today’s frittata was full of leftover greens I had in the fridge + bacon, mushrooms, onions, and Gouda. Super good and guiltless! 💚
