It is and always will be a choice. #beingisbeautiful
I had the honor of interviewing @dr.alexandra.solomon for our @zurahealth platform & podcast that is coming to you TOMORROW — if you don’t follow this woman >> you’ll be happy you did — promise. She’s one of the wisest woman I’ve met on this planet. In the interview, I asked her what prevents couples from going deeper in their relationships?? To which she replied, our unintegrated pain. It’s all the stuff that comes with us from our past. All the stuff we don’t show, even to ourselves - at times. When we start to get curious and compassionate with these parts of ourselves, we begin to free ourselves from the past. And love each other back into the present. #beingisbeautiful
This is such a good reminder for me....especially the part of me that wants to be liked & accepted by people (naturally). The good ol’ need to belong — runs deep. But, as we continue to expand beyond the previous versions of ourselves — and move beyond old comfort zones and stagnated & boring loops of fear — we feel alive. And equally, we think “oh shit, what’s going to happen to my community, friends, family...will they accept and like this version of me?” Haha, and odds are some might not be stoked on the expanded more aligned, and true version of you. Why? Because sometimes it challenges others, and other times they just don’t jive. Guess what?! That’s a-okay too. Let those around you that you care about in on your journey, let them know what’s up and where you’re going....and maybe, just maybe, invite them along to join. Some will join, and some will stay...and none of that has anything to do with your path, your worth, or your Truth. If you stay attached to an external approval rating, you’ll end up feeling exhausted / resentful / and blah. Ain’t nobody got time for that. The only person who needs to give you permission is you. So give it, and commit to it — 💯 percent of the time. #beingisbeautiful
I mean, it’s a cookie dipped in toasted marshmallow. Nostalgia times 1091829378. Growing up my family went on camping trips to the middle of nowhere (no cell phone towers, my friends) — and to be honest, that full presence of my whole fam hanging out around the fire pit are still some of my best and more treasured memories. Just us, s’mores, and nature. I’m so grateful for my parents, and those memories. Even though, being the oldest (w/ @jessmcbeath ) meant we did most of the packing and unpacking 🤪 hahaha. As pops would say, “character building” —- cheers to that my friends. Cheers to that. #beingisbeautiful

How you tell your story shapes every step of your life. Make sure you have some friends (or a mentor, coach, therapist) in your corner to support you in creating a coherent narrative that supports you today, tomorrow, and this moment. You are worthy of that. And plus, if we have the power to shape the story -- why not shape it in a way that supports us? Ya feel me? Much love. #beingisbeautiful Ps. it's not all yours to carry. let it go.
