  • This was by far one of the most exciting, nerve-racking, time sensitive projects I’ve had to work on thus far. And im #soproud - —- Background Story —- Ten years ago, my husbands brother passed away suddenly. Every year since, we have been hosting a 3 on 3 hockey tournament in his honour. With time, the tournament grew into a successful event that our community looked forward to every year. A big part of this success is owed to a dear family member who works for Bauer. Every year he would sponsor the event with all kinds of Bauer prizes and equipment; the top prize being a full goalie set. As the 10th and final year for the tournament approached, he asked me if I was interested in designing the last custom goalie set. I was shocked! And to be honest, freaking out a little... or a lot... as I had never done anything of the sort. But of course I said YES! So after coming up with a concept, I dove right in, spending numerous hours and days designing my lil heart out. Many emotions passed through me throughout the whole process. This set was going to be a surprise gift to my inlaws, Dawsons parents. I HAD to get this right. Finally the time came to send off the file to get printed, praying everything everything would work out during production in Thailand. About a month went by before I received a shot of the final product. I was speechless! I mean, i was proud of the design I submitted, but seeing it come to life really just blew my mind and brought tears to my eyes! There is something so magical about designing something on a screen that is SO personal and meaningful to you, and then seeing it come to life through print and fabrication. At times, this job is mentally draining, physically it is not exciting, you spend long hours staring at a computer screen but then you get those special projects that just lights a little fire in your heart and makes you appreciate the fact that you can make people feel joy and excitement by creating something that resonates deep within them. #graphicdesign #design #art #illustration #branding #designerlife #creativemind #creativelife #artist #adobe #bauer #customgoalieequipment #goalieequipment #goaliepads
