The week is flying by! It’s already Wednesday and my to do list is overwhelming. Before I tackle it, I leave you with Vicolo Scala. 💙
Ring in Monday with little Italian rings (ciambelline). 🌸 Enjoy with ☕️. These cookies are super easy to make and I just love the sparkle from the turbinado sugar (maybe I’m making my holiday cookie planning a little early, maybe I’m not 😁) *recipe in link above
Pan' e vino, e San Martino: Bread and Wine, and Saint Martin. You may hear this phrase in Sicily (especially in Palermo)in reference to the Feast Day of San Martino. He happens to be the patron saint of wine and wine making! On November 11th, you enjoy biscotti di San Martino by dipping them in Moscato (an Italian sweet wine) or any new wine (I love my in-laws homemade wine!). *recipe in link above
Baking bread is therapeutic for me. With every thing happening in the world, I can find some peace and calm in my little kitchen. This is a bread for those that are dreaming of a lovely crust. 🥖A lovely crust that seems you’ve slaved hours over it. James Beard made this bread in error by setting his oven to broil and then finished it baking it. ✨Find the recipe 💙#ontheblog (link above )✨
Another view of stunning Tropea. I knew Calabria was beautiful, but I didn’t know how stunning some of its places are. We drove there from my husband’s nonna’s town on the other side of Calabria. More than worth a visit or a longer stay. 💙 #Tropea Hope your weekend is so far wonderful! I’ll be back later with some special things I have baked!
That magical hour when the sun is setting. ☀️Wishing you all a peaceful and beautiful beginning to your weekend. ✨ This is the first weekend and a while where there isn’t much planned and I like it. What are your plans? 🙃
