Random fact: this lovely building was once offices and stables for a waste disposal centre in Edinburgh. Rubbish was brought there by horse and cart and the ground behind is deep in ash from thousands of chimneys.

#igquiltfestday29 Texture. I really love the texture of close straight-line quilting. Like most quilting it brings a quilt top to life, but it doesn’t dominate the quilt. Other than that meandering stipple - same reason. I like the contrast between the two as well. Both are luckily doable on a small and not very fancy domestic sewing machine and you can have fun with different thread weights. #igquiltfest2020 #igquiltfest
