I recolored this pattern that I created during my #100jessicaswiftpatterns project earlier this year and am loving these colors together!
This kid. Melts my heart every single day. Lately he's obsessed with putting sticks and leaves and things down this tiny water meter hole that he found in our yard. Sorry, water bureau! You're going to find a lot of goodies down there when you open it up next. ;)
I'm feeling so inspired by the sewing class I'm taking right now, where I'm learning how to sew from a pattern and make a dress (a dream of mine for the past, like, 3 years!). My last class is tonight, and I'll finish my dress, woohoo! I'll definitely share a pic when it's done. I have so much fabric from collections I designed for @blendfabrics a couple years ago, and I'm thinking some of it is destined to become dresses. I could rock a patterned peacock dress, right? ;) #fabric #peacockfabric #jessicaswiftfabric
With a toddler at home, sometimes I feel like my work is moving at a snail-like pace. I love being a mom so much, and spending time with C is the greatest, but I also miss my long stretches of hours to work and dream and make. I know they'll return one day, and probably sooner than I realize (it's already going so fast! How is he so close to 2 already?!), so I'm trying to embrace this Snail energy and just move steadily forward each day, moving from a soft center and a sweet heart. That's not a bad way to live, eh? A random little corner full of stuff in my current studio. I am having so much fun dreaming about what my new studio is going to look like.... I've been tolerating these horrid red wood walls in my current studio for 5 years now. The new walls are going to be ALL WHITE. I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. (ps -don't you love that gold bunny? I have 2 of them, and they're some of my favorite things. I got them at Target years ago and spray-painted them gold. Magic!)
Did you know otters hold hands when they sleep so they don't drift apart? And they have a skin pocket on the front side of their bodies, where they often keep a special rock which they use to crack open things like shellfish? I love otters SO MUCH!
