Or, better yet, come see for yourself at our next concert! @Barberfellas presents DECADEnce - the Barbies turn 10! 7PM Saturday 25 April 2020 Amnesty International UK Human Rights Action Centre Tickets: https://www.wegottickets.com/event/492084/ Photos: Rhian Dixon and Simon Ayre Music: www.bensound.com #HandinHand #HiH2019 #HiHCardiff #Barberfellas #DECADEnce #arentwegorgeous
Come join the Barberfellas for a very special celebration as we hit the ripe old age of 10! Frankly, we're amazed we made it this far... At this concert we'll be revisiting some of our favourite tunes from the last decade, as well as debuting several new ones, all sung in a capella, close harmony, Barbie-style! We'll be joined by our friends @korhentrondheim queer choir from Norway, and part of the proceeds will go to our charity partner for 2020: ELOP LGBT Mental Health and Wellbeing. Get your tickets now! Happy New Year everyone! What an incredible year it has been for the @Barberfellas. We started with our concert of solidarity #lovEUleavEU featuring our friends from the continent Melodiva from Munich and @komos.corolgbt from Bologna, supporting @openingdoorslondon (ODL) and @mosaiclgbtyouth Centre. Then it was off to Trondheim, Norway to sing with our best mates KOR HEN, and a wonderful jamboree with our @proudvoices UK & Ireland buddies at the @handinhandlgbtcardiff Choir Festival. In between? Loads of @prideinlondon and @waltham.forest.pride events, charity fundraisers and a few private parties to boot. 2020 brings renewal, and even more so for the Barbies as we head into our 10th anniversary year. Look out for our #DECADEnce concert in March, and a few new and exciting projects coming up, as well as the usual escapades in London, the UK, the continent and beyond! It's gonna be BIG!
As 2019 draws to a close we wish everyone the happiest of holidays. We're raising a glass to all of you for making our year so special. Eat, drink and make merry. Season's Greetings from the Barberfellas! #barberfellas #DECADEnce #merrychristmas
What a fabulous location and what fun it was to sing for Emily on her special day!
Another night another performance for the Barbies. And what a rare honour too. No prizes for guessing where we are!
Thanks to everyone for coming out on what seemed to be coldest night of the year so far to the World AIDS Day Concert 2019. Our goosebumps still haven't gone down! This year's #WorldAIDSDay theme is communities make a difference and we certainly do! Together we raised funds for ELOP - LGBT Mental Health and Wellbeing, a holistic lesbian and gay centre that offers a range of social, emotional and support services to #LGBT communities, and our core services include counselling and young people’s services, and @positiveeast whose mission is to improve the quality of life of individuals and communities affected by HIV. We are also honoured to announce that ELOP is our charity partner in the coming year, so look out for more about future collaboration in 2020 and beyond! #hivawareness #aids #lgbtq #mentalhealth
We're rehearsing hard tonight in preparation for a #worldaidsday 2019 concert fundraiser for ELOP - LGBT Mental Health and Wellbeing and @positiveeast taking place on Fri 29 Nov. You'll get to hear the debut of some new material from us and we'll be joined by many of our choral buddies from across our city. The Barberfellas perform It's Impossible, a song introduced to us by one of our coaches Peter Kennedy, and which we first sang with our dear choral friends, the Kentones. It has since become one of our favourite numbers. We perform it here in the lovely Cornerstone Arts Center, as part of the Hand in Hand LGBT Choir festival 2019 held in the beautiful city of Cardiff, and share the stage with some of the most amazing choirs in the British Isles. We love both our barbershop family, and our LGBT choral family!
