We appreciate your patience as the OHJA Board of Directors has worked to determine how to manage our programs, awards and memberships for 2020. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the OHJA Board of Directors has been forced to make some difficult decisions. 1. Suspension of 2020 OHJA Points and Provincial Year-end Awards, including the 2020 Awards Banquet · Given the level of uncertainty, the OHJA will not collect points or allocate year-end awards for 2020. · The health and safety of our members is top of mind and while much of Ontario is opening back up, and competitions in some areas are able to resume, not all areas of the province will continue to reopen at the same rate. As a result, the OHJA Board felt this was the safest and fairest way to proceed. 2. Suspension of all 2020 OHJA Programs The OHJA will not run any of our Hunter, Jumper or Equitation programs this year. · Instead, the Board will continue to look for creative ways to support and educate our membership through our online platforms. We welcome any ideas you might have. The OHJA will continue to monitor the current situation and should an opportunity arise in the coming months for the OHJA to safely and fairly host any sort of in-person program, we will remain open to it. 3. Extension of all 2020 OHJA Memberships: Anyone who has purchased a membership for the 2020 calendar year will automatically have their membership extended through December 31, 2021 We want to thank all of our members for their understanding as we worked towards this difficult decision. We wish the best for all those organizing or participating in horsehows this year, and we look forward to resuming our OHJA programs in 2021. Please feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.

The OHJA understands that our members have important questions about #OHJA points in 2020. Equestrian Canada recently released a statement and the OHJA Board of Directors is diligently reviewing the implications that their decisions have on our programs. The wellbeing of our OHJA members is paramount. We are mindful that different parts of this province are at different stages of reopening, that the management of the coronavirus in jurisdictions around the world has been nonlinear and that many riders and parents are concerned about their health and safety, and that of their children. We appreciate your patience as we navigate this challenging situation in a way that respects our shared love of this sport and the wellbeing of our members. Recognizing that there is no roadmap for managing horseshow programs in a global pandemic, we are working together to determine the best way to move forward. We will have more to share in the coming week, and in the meantime, we hope that you and your families are staying safe. 📸 @ringside.media
