These are an absolute delight. After sitting on my Las Vegas restaurants to try list I finally had an opportunity to check out brunch at Eat and it didn’t disappoint. The deviled eggs were the standout with a fried egg white, perfectly cooked bacon, and just enough sriracha to give them a kick. Bliss.
Made a somewhat spontaneous trip to the state line over the weekend and I’d forgotten just how fun and colorful the architecture is. The Kate Spade and Williams Sonoma sales weren’t too shabby either.
Happy September! I love the first day of a new month, it always feels like a fresh start. September more than most because my favorite season is only a few weeks away. This year I am excited to announce that September 1st marks the official launch for Sweet Minuet! I’ve been working behind the scenes for about a year now planning, designing, and outlining upcoming launches. I have so much to share with you in the coming days, and I’m excited to have you all here with me. What are you looking forward to this month?
Sometimes a last minute change of plans can be the absolute best thing. After the first restaurant was far too crowded I decided to try Casa Del Matador on a whim and was more than pleasantly surprised. The menu is relatively small, but it’s packed with such interesting dishes that it was difficult to narrow down (particularly with the addition of the seasonal menu). In the end I went for their nachos (the poblano cream sauce is a must), poblano enchiladas with carne asada (something I would definitely order again), and strawberry tres leches cake (more orange than strawberry, but still tasty). I see myself becoming a regular.
A few of my favorite things... Even if you’re not currently planning a wedding, Flutter is full of inspiring photography. Also, a sneak peek at a couple of items from Pretty Vulgar that I’m trying out at the moment. Check back on Tuesday for a full first impression. The packaging is perfection.
After seeing King Arthur: Legend of the Sword last night (which is absolutely something you should do, the movie is fantastic) all of my King Arthur nostalgia came rushing back. During high school and college I read everything Arthurian legend-related that I could get my hands on. To this day this series stands out as one of my favorites. Starting with The Forever King, Cochran and Murphy do a fantastic job of weaving together myth with modern day. —- What’s your favorite Camelot-based tale?
Kicking off the week with a throwback to Paint the Night because Mondays call for a little magic. Here’s to a new week full of wonder and adventure! 🐠 ✨
Hello, May! 🎨 I can’t believe it’s already the 5th… This month I’m looking forward to new movie releases and comfortable theaters, my Mom’s birthday, and (related) taking the 15th off to treat her to a day of her favorite things. What are you excited about this month? — Monthly Goal: Take more time to create this month, even if it’s just a few extra minutes a day.
Lunch at Bonchon today after seeing it on a drive across town last week. My California friends swear by their chicken, and I can see why. Crispy without being oily, and with the perfect amount of glaze. The pork buns are also a new favorite.
