back home back to work
coachella wknd 1, latergram #4: pano of the view of the festival as seen from inside the Spectra tower. you forget coachella is also an art festival. this year’s marquee installation was this 7-story rainbow tower which allowed you to view the surrounding festival grounds and landscape through the entire visible spectrum of color.
coachella wknd 1, latergram #3: towering shot of annie clark of st. vincent. some people are lamenting that coachella has transformed from a rock festival into an edm+rap festival. like ppl were tweeting s**t like “where are the bands?” when the lineup came out. too much to read into a sentiment like that for a mere IG post. but at least that wknd i still saw a couple of bands like st. vincent.
didn’t go back to the bay right away after coachella; drove back this evening. was reminded of how pleasant a midweek afternoon drive on 5 north could be, compared to a busy weekend evening.
coachella ‘18 wknd 1, latergram #2: favorite early-day act - Nile Rodgers & Chic get disco funky, playing the hits written by Nile for/or sampled by other artists. Sometimes you gotta wake up early from your hangover & heat-exhaustion to catch some good s**t on stage. Also, zoom in on Nile’s 🎸 guitar - it’s pretty well-used.
Coachella wknd 1 latergrams this week. #1 - pano on Friday night as viewed from a little past the entrance. i think i just finished watching alison wonderland at this time.
i thought i was going to retire these kicks after coachella ‘16....then ‘17...here we are 2018 - same kicks, although stronger odor...
the coachella experience - 3.5 hrs later after starting off at my place, transport, going through security, buying merch, and now i get to sit down with some water and enjoy music 🎶. i think i can hear the main stage from here, if not see it...
last year i said would be the last. WHATS WRONG WITH ME? 😀
morning jokes: ...that, and I am also glad to see you.
hello again, 🌴 palm springs 🌴
last shot of the SF ⛅️ view before i take off to sunnier ☀️ places for a week 📆
