The highlight of our recent momo trail in Dehradun was trying two signature dim sums from @asia7dehradun . One was the New York Cheese and Chilli Oil Dim Sum and the other was Chicken And Water Chestnut Dim Sums. The charming menu at this beautiful restaurant boasts of a fascinating assortment of dim sums, that combines modern flavours with traditional Cantonese-style cooking technique. Our excitement peaked when the bamboo basket carrying these two sets arrived on the dining table. On removing the lid, what unveiled in front of us were two kinds of delicate hand-crafted dim sums whose translucent casing was made of corn flour. The NY Cheese and Chilli Oil dim sum was creamy and mildly piquant while the Chicken and Water Chestnut one was hearty, refreshing and crunchy. The perfect balance of ingredients and the skillful preparation style resulted in a heavenly mouthfeel. If you are a dim sums enthusiast then this place might leave you amazed. During our recent momo trail in Dehradun, we had relished these gorgeous looking sumai or open momos from Lhasa Tibetan Kitchen in Rajpur. Unlike the regular momo, that we are familiar with, its top part is unsealed making it look like a blooming flower. Although it was a little spicy for our palette, both its taste and appearance were quite enticing. One of the quintessential morning scene over here is the poders doing home delivery of freshly baked breads on their cycles, motor bikes and even cars. Due to the Portuguese influence on the region, breads became an indispensable component of the Goan cuisine. They are relished with tea, different curries and fillings, butter, cream cheese etc. Today's story centres around an old bakery in the town of Majorda which is believed to be the starting point of the bread making activities in the region.
