“Bring Laptop, Get Glühwein” … with emphasize on Glühwein - my strategy to attract people to the READ-O Launch/Testing Event next Tuesday evening 😜 Whoever is interested is more than welcome to to register with the link on the website. The fact that the due date for the READ-O platform to be programmed was November 27th and this event being three weeks after kept me sleepless for quite a while. As my uncle said “Software is never delivered on time”. But @diviraddev did an amazing job within the last two months. The basic features are up and running. It was a wonderful feeling to sign up to my own software for the first time, after READ-O has been only in the form of PowerPoints or Prototypes for so long 😍 The only challenge we have to accomplish until next Tuesday is to deploy the AI Model my new Co-Founder @simonfarshid is working on right now. The AI Model will make sure that our database is filled by converting existing book reviews from other platforms into the READ-O filters. My strategic implications for organizing this event are not only for the website traffic or the exposure but especially for everybody that is working on the project right now, to have a clear goal time wise. From my personal experience I know - and I think many people can relate to that - how time pressure can improve productivity. I think from a managerial perspective, goal setting it is very good tool, to enhance team motivation and productivity. The READ-O event is not just a deadline … rather a clear goal where everybody wants to look good when the software is presented. Fingers crossed to get everything up and running within the couple remaining days 👍🏼👍🏼 #entrepreneurship #startup #startuplife #startupblog #frankfurtschool
A big thanks to the @hybrid.verlag – a book publishing company that showed high interest for READ-O early on. Their feedback and support throughout the last months helped me to accelerate my learning curve. One of the great things of entrepreneurship is that you suddenly make a lot of new connections and collaborate with people that you would normally have no touchpoints with. If you are looking for a high-quality Science-Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery or other type of book you may check out their online shop https://hybridverlagshop.de A brief statement of @hybrid.verlag themselves and how they differentiate: “Ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal zu finden, ist in der Menge der Verlage schwer.
Just returned from @bitsandpretzels - the Founders Festival in Munich. Awesome three day event both at the Congress Center as well as on the Oktoberfest Wiesn. Pitching and networking all day long starting from the very first registration in the morning to various Table Captains at the Schottenhammel Festzelt over a couple Mass Beer 🍻 In my opinion a networking event how it’s supposed to be ... even providing an app for internal chatting and personalized scheduling to be at the right stage at the right time. I can highly recommend this event especially in combination with Oktoberfest 🎉 So bring your Team or your Mates and Prost @louisinsta_ @vincentoroso @jasper_dylan
READ-O Launch ahead! 🎉🎉 Three students from Technical University Darmstadt and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management found high interest in the project and decided to develop the software backend with their newly found company Divirad. I am highly excited for the upcoming collaboration as well as to move on to the next stages with READ-O. Stay tuned for updates …
Lots of updates little time so far! The 6th semester of my studies is finally over and I can focus entirely on READ-O 🙌🏼 Strategically, I decided to narrow down the target market to Sci-Fi books only 👾👽🤖 By doing this, I can address a very specific customer group - mostly tech interested people - and the critical mass of book reviews will be lower as well. Five book publishing companies already agreed to partner up. Further publishers showed a lot of interest. The deal is that we promote the books with affiliate marketing (we get a provision for each sale on our platform) in exchange for the initial reviews of the publisher’s books - a win win situation. Next week, I will partner up wit a potential Co-Founder and CTO. The programming of the search engine will start and the deals can be realized. 💸 So stay tuned for more updates! Should I add the night sky design for the Sci-Fi search?
I had the pleasure to meet with the managing director of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association in Wiesbaden Germany. Thanks again for the great testimonial! 🙏🏼
Good memories back in Hong Kong participating with 18 Start-Ups at Dean‘s Cup Pitch Competition. „1st Runner Up“ & „Most Favorite Team“ 🎉💪🏼🇭🇰 thanks again @jennifer.eng for helping me out 😊
I was looking in the internet for a good picture I could use on my website to emphasize how many books there are and how difficult it can be to find a good one. I found a picture of exactly this library. The beautiful, minimalistic, modern style was a good match for my website. What a surprise, the library was located two hours away from me in Stuttgart, Germany. What a lucky coincidence?? Check out the outcome on www.read-o.com. Unfortunately, the background video won‘t play on mobile devices...
Did you ever try to find a bloody name for your business? A name that is actually available as a domain, on Instagram (more or less ... who the hell is read_o?? That guy is not answering btw.), Facebook, etc.. Since the internet has been growing for a substantial amount of time it’s logical that the available domain names that would make sense for most businesses decline. I actually checked and a popular domain provider sold about 16 mio domains ... in the first quarter of 2016. How will our kids be able to create a website which is not called read-o5173892.com? And even nowadays it is difficult enough. I actually got to the point where I tried a letter generator that threw me five random letters together. No joke, even those kind of ‘words’ that sounded reasonably okay were not available. Actually, asking for ideas on my Instagram story helped me the most. One idea was “Read-y” which was not available. My sister thought read-o would sound cooler and the -o could look like the parameter sliders which is part of the search function and one of the core innovations of read-o so here we are. Yes, I’m not completely happy with the minus in the name ... is that bad marketing what I’m doing here? Naah I rather keep it authentic guys. Turning the weaknesses into strengths ...
