Now that it’s springtime, I’m excited to go back to working from coffee shops — rather than hiding from the cold! ❄️ Here’s a photo my sweet friend @availethphotography took at @ecdc.coffee a couple of summers ago! How time flies! 😅
It’s never lost on me what a blessing it is to work from home. From the days I want to wear sweatpants and sweatshirts (Almost every day 😅) to the days I want to listen to my favorite music out loud, there’s always something to be grateful for. 🎶 Having had a tough time fitting in in a traditional workplace, I can’t imagine anything else! 👭 Today was a productive day — which included lots of laughs, @starbucks, and hot yoga... so I’m really grateful for today! ❤️ #harvestlanehome
I’ve found the best way to “finish” our #harvestlanehome is to tackle one room at a time. Since our living room, kitchen, and dining area are all technically ONE room — it has taken a few years! 😅 🏡 Last week, I found this table at @target and this mirror at @tjmaxx — and I love how they are a little mismatched. (I’m planning to hang the mirror today!) 🔨 The little statue, which I’ve named Frank 😜 is from Vietnam, and I just thought it was a fun piece! So, Frank and I wish you a happy Sunday! 🙈
Just about 1 year ago, Ben and I took a trip to Seattle and Victoria, Canada. Seattle was uncharacteristically sunny, I visited the original Starbucks (My dream! 😍) and Ben faced his fear of big waves while we road a ferry to Victoria. 🌊 What I’ll remember most from our trip is running through a crazy windstorm in Victoria 💨 finding a cozy place for dinner, and feeling totally free. Traveling, for me, is always a blend of adventure and fun and anonymity — and that’s why I love it so much! ✈️
Ben and I made a bet that all of the snow on our patio would be melted by 3 PM tomorrow... and I’m on my way to victory! 😜 I’m really, really hoping the sun is here to stay! ☀️ Here’s a photo from our recent trip to California! We had lunch on a pier in Malibu, and I’ll always remember: The sound of the ocean, the warm and sunny weather, and... getting attacked by birds and having to run away! 🐦 Just making memories! 😜
Hi! 👋 I’m back from a couple of months away from Instagram. 🙋🏼♀️ I’ve learned SO much, but my favorite lesson of all is that social media can be anything we want it to be. ❤️ Instagram doesn’t have to be a stressful place — it can be a place for #lifegivingsquares... a place to let your voice be heard, to encourage, to be honest, and to make a difference, no matter how big or small. 👭 So, here we go! 😊 Here is a peek at my favorite corner of our #harvestlanehome — a corner where I sometimes spend the whole day working from. 🙈 It’s been a super busy season, and I’ve come down with a little cold 🤧— so today, this corner is my cozy little spot for rest.
After a really tough, busy, work-filled week, I’m now under a cozy blanket, in a cozy sweater, in FLEECE-LINED yoga pants (Desperate times! 😅) getting ready to watch TGIT! ❤️🎉❤️ . Encouraging mug by my talented friend @laurenheimstudio ❤️
We’re back in Eau Claire, and there’s still lots and lots of snow ❄️ so I’m going to post this photo I took in Arizona last spring and daydream about desert sunsets... 🌅 🌵😊☀️
Home for the weekend! 🏠
Tickets are booked! We are going to California over Ben’s spring break in March! ✈️ We are spending half of our trip in Los Angeles, and the other half on the ocean near Ventura — and I’m really excited to experience both in one trip! 🏄♀️ I’ll just be here waiting for all of the snow to melt. ⛄️ (Photo from our trip to Philadelphia last fall.)
A little house-building update: After much deliberation, we’ve decided to continue remodeling our #harvestlanehome for now! 🏡 Although the models we saw were beautiful, there’s something so peaceful about living small — or trying to live small. 🌿 This year, my hope is to donate a whole lot, to love the present rather than always looking toward the future, and of course, to keep traveling for fun!
Tomorrow, Ben and I will be meeting with builders to talk about — hopefully — building a house! 🏡 I’m dreaming of an open-concept farmhouse with vaulted ceilings, and Ben’s only request was windows. “Lots and lots of windows.” 😜
Always stop and smell the roses... or in this case, stop and look up at the ceiling, because it’s so pretty! 😍 Grateful for a final day of winter break with @emilyzugay 👭
Some days, you’re on a roll - and other days, your optometrist extracts two pieces of a contact lens that’s been stuck in your eye for 5 days. 👀🙈
Eau Claire, Elkhorn, Delavan, Lake Geneva, Waukesha... and home again! 😴 It was a fun AND filling weekend - and now, I’m so glad to be under a cozy blanket, by our Christmas tree! 🎄
This little corner of our living room is my favorite corner. I searched for the perfect piece to put in this awkward corner... and when I found the blanket ladder from @wayfair and the Turkish blankets from @target - the corner was complete! ❤️ . There are just a few more DIY projects I'm trying to convince Ben of 😜 including plank ceilings in our bedrooms. Fingers crossed! 🙈 #harvestlanehome
