If you want to increase the diversity of your microbiome, go out into nature and breathe. The airborne bacteria and fungi that are naturally found in clean natural environments is much more effective than taking a probiotic. -Dr. Zach Bush The Case for Organic now on thebeautyarcana.com. C A R B O N snowflake • When chemotherapy researcher and designer Dr. Zach Bush decided to make the shift away from traditional drug based therapies to nutrition driven healing most of his peers either turned against him or dismissed his 'hippy-dippy' brand of medicine outright. He didn't let that stop him • Having sensed that something must be wrong with our plants and therefore our soils he fervently began looking at the earth for answers. What he found gave goosebumps. Flipping through a lengthy paper on soil he came across an image. It was a microscopic look at common garden dirt and it's various forms of carbon. But these carbon molecules looked familiar. They looked exactly like the cancer medicine he had spent most of his career working on. At that point it dawned on him that dirt wasn't just dirt. It had a medicinal quality about it • Delving deeper he discovered that there were a million different variants of these molecules which he called carbon snowflakes. Each one was different from the next and it was exactly this biodiversity that made for a healthy soil • Sadly with the introduction of glyphosate in the 1970s most of this diversity has been eroded leading to a breakdown and thinning out of the communication network that lies in our soils • What does this mean for us? This means weaker soils, weaker plants, leaky guts and weaker more disease prone human populations • The important work of Dr. Bush and the case for eating #organic now on thebeautyarcana.com
A L K A L O I D S • a family of all important compounds that gives our plant food its medicinal quality. These magical, health giving and restorative compounds can be anti-depressive, anti-diabetic, anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory just to name a few. They are what protect us from disease • Sadly with the introduction of Glyphosate in the 1970s and widespread use by the mid 1990s our food supply has been compromised. The production of these precious alkaloids are blocked by glyphosate resulting in plants that are for all intents and purposes, devoid of any medicine. • While Monsanto has been assuring us for years of the safety of its weed killer, health statistics since the 1990s show something different. Rates of chronic disease and cancer skyrocketed about the same time as glyphosate became the number one chemical used on our crops in North America. Coincidence? We think not. Going organic has never been more important. 🍅Read The Case for Organic now on thebeautyarcana.com Link in bio
