Blue skies and sunshine whisper springtime promises 🌱 beneath those feet of snow, Gaia is stirring after her long winter’s slumber.
~•~ The Story of Eostre’s Bunny ~•~ 🐇🌸🥚 Eostre's Bunny, better known as the Easter Bunny, was originally a bird who sang sweet springtime songs, but froze to death after a late frost. The spring Goddess Eostre, feeling terrible for allowing such a tragedy to occur, transformed him into a bunny, so quick that he could outrun any hunter. To honour his last form of a bird, she gave him the ability to lay the most beautiful coloured eggs. In spring, children would find these eggs hidden in the forest and fields during the Spring Equinox festivals. Over time, Eostre and the bunny fell in love, but one day, she caught him being unfaithful, and tossed him into the sky in a fit of anger, where he still lives as the constellation Lepus, under the foot of Orion the hunter. Eventually, Eostre softened her heart, and allowed him to return to Earth one night per year, in order to hide beautifully decorated eggs and leave small gifts and candies for the children who love him. *A condensed version of the Ancient Germanic/Anglo-Saxon legend from the land of Gaul.* Photo credit: Flickr artist Gytha69 🌸🌱
Eostre egg decorating shenanigans have begun 🐇🎉
Fresh baby cauliflower sprouts are being moved into their own pots today... my experience is that most plants which have been transplanted several times before moving into the garden are stronger, hardier and more resistant than those that grew out without being disturbed. Experiment and see what works for you 🌱
