Counting down the days til planting time! We've got our garden mapped out. Now comes the hard work of getting it all ready.
One of my hens led me straight to her secret stash of eggs this morning (the darkest brown ones). They are so pretty! Had no idea we were getting this color too. I love being a crazy chicken lady. And goat lady. And cow lady. 😁
Happy one month (yesterday) to my sweet Lilybug!
My day started at 3:30 am. Nursing, pumping, then making breakfast for the rest of the family, getting them ready and loading up the kiddos for a drive to see my sister and her boys, then the long trip home followed by an evening of a fussing baby. Now we're laying quietly in the dark snuggling, finally calm. And I'm looking back through pictures from the day and this one jumps out at me. My girls. My heart. My reason for working so hard. Also the reasons I'm so dang tired all the time. I know this season of all nighters won't last forever, and before I know it I'll have two big girls. And I know I'll look back and miss it. The late night coos and cuddles with Lily. The snuggles and chats with Harper just before she falls asleep. So for now, I'll just hold them a bit closer and try and soak up these sweet moments as much as I can.
Twelve years ago we said I do. So much I could say, but I'll keep it at this. I still do. Love you babe.
I'm borrowing this idea of happy (rosy) lists from an fellow IG mom that I admire @therosylifeblog. Counting my blessings today and everyday, but writing them makes me more aware of all I have to be grateful for. So today, here's my happy list: newborn sighs and snuggles, big sister loving her baby sister, coffee, getting enough sleep and a little bit of me-time every day, fresh eggs, first spring flowers, birds singing, roosters crowing, and that it's finally Friday (amen!!).
Is the spring coming? he said. What is it like?... It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine... Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden
