Our next session will have another DC flare to it as it's with a former DC area resident and current Hawk Central reporter, Chad Leistikow! Chad graduated high school in Iowa City and then went on to graduate from the University of Iowa. Leistikow is a devout fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Washington Capitals, but also is a big fan of cooking. With his writing, podcasts, video chats and radio interviews, he said he always aims to provide the audience with fresh angles and stories it might not be expecting. I consider it an undeserved blessing to cover the Hawkeyes and share this passion with all of you, he said. Join us on Friday, May 15th at 6pm EDT to hear from one of the best Hawkeye reporters. Due to Zoom limitations, please go to our bio to RVSP.

Our first HawkSocial Distancing Happy Hour was a success! Big thanks to the @phoenixiowaclub for cohosting and @washedupwalkons for making it so much fun. We could have definitely kept it going for a long time. Stay tuned for our upcoming schedule with various Hawkeye Guests!

We're in a new normal for a while as we try to stay safe and indoors. That doesn't mean we can't come together, talk Hawks and have a good time! We're going to try and start a series of Virtual Happy Hours hosted by the Capital Area Iowa Club with several Hawkeye special speakers. The first week will be with podcast favorites, WashedUpWalkons. The Washed Up Walkons podcast was born in 2018 out of the passion of three hosts (Tyler Kluver, Drake Kulick and Kevin Ward) for Iowa football. Passion that carried over from their time on the Hawkeye Football team. The popular podcast began as a format where they could let the public in on some of the amazing inside experiences they had created during their playing days. As funny as it is entertaining, the over one hundred episodes of the podcast have been a gift to the Hawkeye faithful that include interviews of other former Hawkeye athletes and discussions that give listeners insightful and unique content that gives us a feel on what life is like as a Hawkeye athlete. Grab your drink of choice and sign up today to join the National Capital Area and Phoenix Iowa Clubs for the inaugural HawkSocial Distancing Happy Hour and Q&A with the gang from the Washed Up Walkons podcast at 6:00 pm (Eastern) 5:00 pm (Central) 3:00 pm (Mountain) on Friday, April 10, 2020. Because of technical restraints, the event is limited to the first 100 respondents – so sign up today!
