February day 17 - . . Cozy winter reads: Green Gables is always a go to when I take my mental space to somewhere cozy. I figure Canada might be even better than northern Ohio at making cozy nooks. 😉 #bookishwinterwonderland18 . . . It's been a haunting last few days. I really haven't posted anything and it's hard to find a way to post a relatable tribute on a bookstagram account. I'll do my best, here's the last time I posted from #ParklandFL we spend a good chunk of the year in parkland and this was during this past Hanukkah. We'll head back down there next month. My heart aches for all these people, hurting. I hope so much that change and action will come and it will bring them some sense of peace. #parkland

So I realized that I accidentally hashtagged my map photo incorrectly but oh well I'll just double tag some of my prompts. Plus I've had the main theme from Swan Lake stuck in my head ALL. DAY. LONG!!! So it's really only appropriate. . . . purple - #dreambunnybookishfeb18 black books - #addlebowtiesandbooksfeb18 retelling - #jayjaysconstantfaerytalesvalentine
So with the announcement of the Printz award I thought I'd throw my two cents in because who doesn't want to hear what the peanut gallery has to say! 😂 Anyway first off I reaLLLy did like 'We Are Okay' and 'The Hate U Give' I thought they were both very well written and moving novels but Strange the Dreamer was without a doubt my favorite YA read of last year. I mean those books are sort of hard to compare to begin with. Like two of them deal with real life situations and hardships and Strange the Dreamer is a total fever dream of fantasy and mythology. So, basically it feels odd to choose between these books to start with but that being said, Strange the Dreamer completely consumed me as a reader. It was just an completely magical story and one of those books that completely erases the outside world once you've entered it's story. I looooved this book. So, it's safe to say I recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it yet.
