Tuesday Transformation. What a difference a haircut, a shower and a hot meal can do. But not only that, it’s showing care, visiting with them about their day (the ups and the downs). It’s relationship building. We love when we see smiles! it means as much to us as it does them. #lovegodlovepeople 📷 @harleysangel

Looks like rain will be tapering off. ShowerUp will be downtown ready to serve with both trucks. We missed yesterday due to storms but today looks good. We will update if it changes, but come join us if you can! 📷 @crystalfreemonphotography
Hey everyone! We are tracking some severe storms we the potential for lighting so for everyone’s safety we are going to cancel for today.
We see women on the streets every day. It’s not easy, they have to learn to survive and stay safe. When we started ShowerUp, one of our main goals was to create a private space especially for these women. We collect hygiene products, feminine products, hair brushes, and things they don’t have access to. We paint their nails sometimes, and give make up. If we can make them smile for the time they are with us and let them know they are loved, then it’s well worth it. Share a smile, share love. It changes someone’s day. Thank you for helping us LOVE on these beautiful women. 📷 @crystalfreemonphotography
We wanted to introduce Bill. He has been homeless for a little over a month. He had been sleeping under a bridge, but he got a ticket for trespassing so he moved. He is going to love to a smaller town where he has secured a job and can afford an apartment. We write about him because during his time of being homeless, he sees the way people look at him. The way they quickly move away, grab their children’s hands or are just plain rude. He gets it he said, he does, but he had these words for me.... I AM a human being. Just because I am in a bad situation doesn’t make me a BAD person. I have had the best of everything and obviously I have had the worst. But it doesn’t matter what you have, it matters who you are.
Have you ever sat like this and waited? Hoping they would call your name? For a SHOWER? He is. He waited for a bit. It had been well over two weeks. It’s hot. All he wanted was one chance. To get in. To get clean. Thank you to all who donated for our 2nd trailer. It makes a difference. One shower can change a day. We love our community and to all who help do what we do. We couldn’t do it without you. 📸 @crystalfreemonphotography
