6/30 - We LOVE this photo because is there is anything you know about us. It's that we believe that Moments Freaking Matter! Here, the lighting isn't the best, its a little busy behind them and its super grainy. But I dont know, this is one of our favorite #RealRawMoments and that is why we submitted it! . . Little known fact, it was so dark in this area that you could barely see anything, but they wanted to do a first touch before the ceremony, and the ceremony was in 5 minutes. I saw a heat light behind me clamped to a pole and I pointed that right at them. Looked like it worked well! #MomentsOverMountains
5/30 - We submitted and olive this photo because its an absolutely GORGEOUS bridal portrait of a gorgeous bride! We also love it because we had to push ourselves to make something out of the situation. . . It was the heat of summer and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. There also wasn't much vegetation to do portraits so we did the whole first look, bridal party, family photos and a lot of bride and groom photos inside. The light didn't disappoint and this gorgeous bride with her amazingly simple dress and bouquet made this simple, exposed wood wall pop! Turning something out of nothing. Use the light you are given and the situation to make something beautiful!
4/30 - We submitted this photo because we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE good groom photos and this is one of our favorites. The story behind it is just as cool. He got his PHD from Yale, yup, Yale and so we decided to do portraits in his home library. The books with his hair and those glasses made it all pretty dang epic! . . Also, we are going to start showing before/afters and walking you through our process on instagram live with all of these photos we submitted. If you guys like the idea, let us know, we may do it with all of the photos we post! #GroomPicsMatter
3/30 - This is one of our favorite ceremony moments and we were excited to submit it to the contest as one of our favorites! What makes this so amazing is that these two walked down the aisle as husband and wife, came back and escorted their parents out! This was one of the sweetest and most amazing things we have seen and we LOVED it! So much love and so much emotion its everything we love shooting and are thankful to be a part of! These are also two of the most amazing people we know! #MomentsOverMountains
2/30 - This is the second photo we submitted to the contest and we ABSOLUTELY love it. It's one of my favorites because it has everything we love. Emotion, Composition & Light! It's freaking Bold but still intimate. It represents a lot about us. . . Also, we got an email back from one of the editors today about our entries and it was insightful and helpful but also motivating. I want to serve our clients so well and continue to pursue our passion in such a way that says If you work choose us, thats on you, because we are going to worked harder than the rest of these photographers and soon, you won't be able to deny us! . . We love you all and we are thankful for all of you that follow us, support us and thanks to my good friend @ferjuaristi for allowing me to shoot this wedding with him and allowing me to submit this shot. You might also remember this show was @junebugweddings Best of the Best wedding photos taken in 2016!
A couple of months ago we heard that we were in incredible humbly company. We had been nominated, along with only 200 other photographers in the world, as the Top 30 Rising Stars of wedding photography. Today, we got an email that said we hadn't been chosen. We are thankful for the opportunity and we are thankful to Lose. I think losing is even more important to us than winning because it helps to keep our perspective and intent aligned with why we do what we do in the first place. And for me (Devin) personally, it pushes me to be better. We LOVE our couples and we LOVE the gift God has given us to do this. An award is just an award but what we do carries an unbelievable weight we dont take lightly! We spoke a lot about it on our blog and YouTube channel! The link is in the Bio! Check it out! . . Also, over the next 30 days, we are going to shares the 30 photos we we submitted so follow along!
We love engagement sessions that are unique to our couples! Brett used to be a chef so it was fitting to do some cooking together during their session!
