Oh, the light. I could photograph gorgeous outdoor ceremonies all day, every day... except today... today is frickin hot. #immelting #26weekspregnant #dead
I’m digging when couples exchange letters/gifts back to back and THEN turn around for their first look. It allows for the groom to have a real moment, an honest, raw moment of feeling without fear of people watching or keeping it together for his bride or friends or whoever. Some grooms just let it all out anyways, but for some, this moment gives them that grace to soak it in and just feel. ❤️
It’s that wind swept twirl type of love. Thanks @melissadurhamphoto for bringing me on all your adventurous weddings.
Two posts in one day after a huge hiatus??? Whaaat?! If you’re wondering what happened to me and don’t watch my insta stories, I’m still alive so no worries. This year is so different for me though. I purposefully have stepped back from trying to book as many weddings as possible and have refocused on my family and shooting more boudoir this year while second shooting with some FAB friends of mine. Why? Because when you hear photographers talk about how much behind the scenes work there beyond the wedding day, they aren’t joking. I was spending way too much time away from my family between answering emails, meeting with potential clients and current clients, engagement sessions, and editing (omg allll the editing) it adds up how many hours I was spending with each couple. Those hours are ones I cannot get back with Oakley. I love my couples, but taking on a lot of clients is and was too stressful for me and my family. They need me. Second shooting allows me to still photograph all the pretty weddings but focus on my family. Boudoir allows me work with my ladies (my fav part of my weddings anyways was my brides and our friendship) while working completely from home 95% of the time and spending 1/3 of the time from start to finish in comparison to weddings. So, am I gone for good? No. Will I still post? Yes! Will I still have a small number of weddings each year? YES! Very small though. If you want to follow along with my boudoir work check my page (@labellaboudoir )! For cute updates of Oakley and the new baby due in October check out our insta stories where I keep it real just like my posts.
