Just got one (or a few) new plants? No matter what type of plant you're caring for, here are some general tips for success: 1️⃣ Keep your plants away from drafts. No plant loves hot or cold air (such as from heating or cooling vents) blasting on it. 2️⃣ Avoid overwatering. More houseplants die from too much water than too little. What happens when they get too much water is that the roots drown and die. It's easier to rehydrate a stressed plant than resuscitate a plant with dead or dying roots. 3️⃣ Don't make a lot of changes. Plants don't move around in nature, so if your new plant seems like it's struggling, give it a chance to adapt to its new spot before transferring it to different locations around your home. What else would you add to this list?
#TipTuesday: Show a Little Extra TLC in the Beginning! 🌿 Show your new plant a little extra attention in the beginning. When you bring a new plant home for the first time, establish a routine of checking in with it every 3 to 4 days. A little extra attention can go a long way. Slight environmental can cause fluctuations in the frequency of your care, so best not to just assume “every Monday is watering day.” Besides, it’s nice to check in and say “Hello” to your plant every few days!

Are you part of the group that struggles to figure out the ideal lighting requirements for their favorite plants? After all, what's the difference between “indirect light” or “filtered light”? Does “bright light” mean the same as “direct sunlight”? It's confusing! So, to try to simplify things here is our first #TipTuesday tip on lighting that you can depend on for healthy plant growth! 🌟 If the room is bright enough for you to read in, then it’s probably fine for most houseplants. It sounds simplistic, but plants thrive in the exact same light that family and pets do. And, if you have an odd corner that receives less light than the main part of your home, add a lamp nearby for an extra dose of lighting.
